I Hate Squats!!!!!

on leg day i do 5 sets of them 3x10-12 - 2x8, but i hate the damn things. is there any other exercise that i can do to get the same results or am i stuck doing them?
 
You'll hate 'em even more when you have to invest in a new wardrobe from the growth.

you gotta do squats man, you'll learn to like them more and more though as you see your weights going up and lots of peoples staying the same...

one thing i find strange is that even though the gym useally has atleast 5-10 people in it, i'm the only one i've ever seen doing them. maybe i'm not doing it right or something because i always feel out of place. does anyone have a video i can go by to make sure i'm doing them right?

Sorry, I think you are stuck with squats. It's a love/hate relationship. :D
 
I squatted an easy 800 last week. Now I have a brace on my knee, am hobbling around the house, taking ibuprofen and all kinds of cremes...and all I can think about is dreams of squatting 4 digits...

Why do you hate squats??

because no matter how i do them i feel like i'm doing them wrong. i'll take my dv camera with me sometime tomorrow and show you guys what i'm talking about.
 
the stronger you get, the harder it is... theres where your mind has to be strong... then is a piece of cake...:)
 
No way - I just started doing them and I love em. If my legs don't get any bigger over the next couple months I'm going to change my opinion though...
 
i had this problem for a while, i felt like i wasnt doing them right. So i sucked it up, put away my pride and lowered the weight so i could do them right, now im squatting more the right way then i ever did before the wrong way.
 
I had the same problem for a while. I switched to a smith machine for a month so I could get used to the movement without having to worry about keeping my balance. Then I went back to freeweights and I havnt had a problem since :D
 
Ahhh...just got done with some 5x5 squats. Such a great feeling to fight the weight on that last rep and win. Sure, they're hard, but I love watching the world spin when I'm done. They're my second favorite only to deads.
 
That was a terrible squat video....

I can't imagine hating squats...they are my favorite exercise by far...i'm kind of a masochist though...lol
 
At my gym i see maybe around 20% of the members doing squats. Wow you say? A high percentage?

On the other hand, i've only seen 2 others do it properly, ass to the floor. Everyone else just pussies out just above the sticking point.

I rarely go rock bottom... :)

I try to on my high bar or front squats though...
