I Hate My Wrists

i hate that anytime i go over about 300 on barbell bench my wrists feel like they are going to snap..

405 feels like they are going to break at the joint..i guess its just a MUST to wear wrist wrap gloves or tape my wrists when goin over 300lbs..


anyone else have this issue? i try to keep them as straight as i can for the lower amounts of weight to hopefully strengthen them but once i get to a certain point its inevitable.. then bench.. and put major stress on them..

just venting i guess..
 
are you in PCT?

if so ignore those pains and just ease back till you normalize

if you not in PCT then Lifting gloves with Built in Straps are your friend

nothing wrong with using tools
 
well i WAS going to start PCT in 2 weeks, but i just had a LONG week of fighting with my gf and as a result i lost about 5-6 lbs from lack of hunger.. and not being in the gym, so im gonna extend out 2-3 weeks to put the weight back on.. , but the wrist ordeal has always been an issue when goin heavy on bench, i think i just have weak wrists.. they arent able to take the heavy weight i guess i cant keep them straight to support the weight to save my life.. i guess gloves with wrist wraps WILL be my best friend for life
 
Same problem here when going heavy on bench. I bought some Inzer powerlifting wrist wraps & they made a big difference. They use velcro so its easy to loosen them between sets.
 
I think we talked about this before and you know how I feel about going too Heavy( even if it does not feel heavy)

I would just rep out with 225-275 from now on and go for development form now on bro
 
Most competition benchers use wrist wraps. I prefer Inzer Iron Wrist Wraps, but I'm sure Titan makes a good line of them also.
Never give up the quest for power.
 
gf issue is over everythings cool, its amazing to see how the human body reacts to stress..

gloves with wrists wraps here i come..

i try to stay lighter omega but right now 275 feels like 135.. its hard to not want to go up lol
 
yup I get the same prob on curls,bench,mp,just about everything.wrist feel like there going to brake on every set and it sucks I just lift threw it though.
 
if i lift threw it, i do believe my wrists would snap at the joint.. :D 415 pounds just DOESNT do well on a totally bent wrist
 
same problem here too. I boxed all through college and was strong as hell but occasionally when I would land a dead solid body punch, my wrists would give and I would jam it up. I had it extra taped and wrapped with gloves. I have naturally thin wrists anyway and it sucks. I sometimes feel that same way on bench or when I am doing forearm work. They havent snapped off into the floor yet so onward I go.
