I guess I should post this here

tripleV

But I had my blood work done at the doc last week, and my liver enzymes are REAL high and my doc is worried. He said he thinks they will lower right back down again, but to NEVER do AS again as "look at what it's done, and you never know what could happen". My iron is low too, but that's no as much of a worry.

Just keeping you all in the loop as to what could/can happen. This is my first ever cycle and I was taking milk thistle. And no, I don't drink.

What were the lab results? Post ALL the numbers (ALT, AST, GGT, ALK PHOS, BILI and LDH). What is really high and what a doctor considers high are two totally different things in someone that lifts heavy.

What drug and dose were you taking?

How close to a heavy workout was the lab work done? Were you experiencing a lot of muscle soreness when the labs were done or within 2 - 3 days?

Regarding the iron. Did they measure iron or serum ferritin? Need to know serum ferritin.

Did you have your blood work done pre-cycle to establish baseline values.

BUMP for triple v! A dr...is always going to be conservative girl..remember this and a bunch of factors can go into that test as well...post your results so w6 can better help you.

I agree with what New@ said TV3.....Doctors are fairly conservative......put up more of your results and see what some on the board say.

TV, I don't know much about AS.

I just wanted to tell you to take care, and get a second opinion, if you think the first is wrong.

Be well lady.

Hey sweetie, I hope you doing okay. This is just my opinion, but listen to your doctor no matter how concervative he may be. It's best to be 100% safe because you only have one liver and you are too damn young to have problems with it now. It's gonna have to last you a lifetime. As far as the anemia, make sure they do a test to see if it's iron deficiency anemia. So many doctors prescribed iron pills to me but it turns out I have Thalassemia, a form of anemia that prevents my body from absorbing iron so I'll always have it.

Your liver enzymes are supposed to be high while taking AS, it means your liver is doing its job :) Don't freak out yet, post all your numbers that you have, if you were taking AS and your liver enzymes wern't high, that would be really bad. :) Relax, post your numbers and lets take a look! :)

P.S. If you are taking Winstrol, I have posted over and over that Winstrol is iron depleting, and to make sure you supplement your iron. Also, if you are having your periods and are bleeding a lot, that will also lower your iron, so both of those together make it really really low, so you should be supplementing with iron right now, because I know you read my posts ;) ;) so maybe you just arn't supplementing enough ;) ;) :) :)

I have a friend that went and was told by the doc his liver wasn't happy - he was also on milk thistle and the doc said not to take that, b/c it was actually more work for the liver to do that too...

don't know. I have the tyler's liver detox - but it still isn't clear to me if that really is helping, or just getting rid of the things that set off the test...

"Your liver enzymes are supposed to be high while taking AS, it means your liver is doing its job "

Not exactly....... What it means, IF the enzymes are related to the liver is that hepatocytes are being damaged/destroyed, their cell membranes disrupted and the contents (including those enzymes) are spilling into circulation.

I've seen labs from a few women competitors using 300 - 500 mg/wk of a mix of AAS including winny-V, deca, test and OX for 12 weeks, some on test and/or deca year round with no elevations of liver enzymes. Then their are guys that don't use juice and have ALT and AST in the low 100's (almost 3x normal) due to SKELETAL MUSCLE, NOT LIVER damage.

The lab values are important here. High AST and ALT can also indicate a latent hepatitis infection or other occult liver pathology.

Post the values.

Ok guys, I dont have the results in front of me, but i looked at the paper when the doc was telling me. He said both ast and alt???? were high. He pointed to 2 numbers..57 and 55. Does this help? I will call him on MOnday to ask for the details.
THX for all the help :)

oh in case there is any confusion....i told him i was on winstrol.,.i have been off for a few weeks now, closer to amonth actually ! The test was taken a week after my last shot, but i did tell him i was on AS.

T baby.......ask him to fax u the results...... or get a copy......just so u have it for urself......its always good to have those things .:)

"He pointed to 2 numbers..57 and 55. Does this help? I will call him on MOnday to ask for the details."

If those are ALT and AST and that's what he was referring to, you have little to worry about. Those values are far, far from way high.

Have the blood work redone after a week off from heavy lifting and establish baseline numbers. Then have it done again (no juice) after a few weeks of heavy lifting when you are really sore. Second baseline numbers.

Then you and he know what your true baseline LFTs are. Take it from there. You will both be educated.

Regardless, post all the labs when you get them.
