I paid a vendor for items that he never delivered. When the items (gumballs for my gym for the kids.) never arrived, he promised that he would send out replacement balls. They too never arrived.

I wrote him numerous emails and he never responded.

I know some of you are experienced ebayers. What can I do, aside from leaving him negative feedback?

I was reading that there was some sort of mediation...but I don't want to go through with that, I just want my money back.

It was ''only'' 22.99, but it's still money to me, and the principle alone is enough to make me try to get the money back.

If you did not do the "physical good insurance" thing when you paid him with PayPal, you're not getting your money back. You can bitch to eBay and probably get his account closed, but that's about it.

If he screwed you over, then get his account shut down. Do you want someone else to get screwed by him as well?

You can file a complaint with PayPal, and then he will have to prove that the goods were delivered. If he doesn't, you may get your money back (or you may not - it's weird like that).

So it turns out that there is actually one other person who paid for items that were never shipped. I filed the complaint through ebay and I also filed a complaint through paypal

Remember that shit? For those of you who don't, madbomber was a member here. One year when PS2 were THE item at Christmas time, he bid on a PS2 New Box and Receipt on Ebay. Paid about $400 for it. When he got it in the mail, all he got was an empty box and a receipt. Even though the ebay picture had the game package in it, the girl defended herself saying that she described the item correctly, it was a box and a receipt, she never said anything about the game being there, it was his fault he assumed something different. He complained to ebay, they closed her account. still nothing.

What did he do? He posted her phone number on this board and about 300 people started calling her all day and all night. After the 5th day, she broke down and sent him back his money begging him to end the harassment she was getting.

Not that I am encouraging this, just relating another EF ebay disaster story.

I'd forgotten about that...I have a friend that had a similar experience with an XBox purchase a few months ago....they found out this person was in San Diego, and they called and harassed them to a point, but never got anywhere.

Hoe about the guy that was selling info on how to go about attaining eveything you need to make Tren on Ebay? Everyone started calling and emailing him and the company he worked for until he finally yanked his items. I remeber him emailing me back saying he didn't want any trouble and to call off the hounds. Request his info (It's the first step), a phone number should appear. If this number is wrong or he just doesnt answer, try the Buyer Dispute option. It's basically an e-mail dispatched to Ebay with date of payment and all. Is he a PowerSeller ? Big, medium, smal seller ? Shutting down his account may have an impact.
