I found the solution to my Kazaa problems.

because the higher share rating you have on bittorrent, (i.e. faster your upload and the more time you leave your torrents open to seed) the higher you are prioritized on downloads when there is a que... also, leaving it open will yeild more peer connections. Anyone heard of the problem where you have to reset your cable modem constantly when p2p progs are open?

how come bit torrents are always so slow for me? i get much quicker download speeds on shareazza, kazaa lite ressurection, etc. yet all i hear about it is how much faster it is through bit torrents.

it's so random. I've had insanely fast downloads before and others that go at 5k/ sec for 4 days....

download is supposed to be proportional to your upload rate but it doesn't always work that way. I usually get raped for bandwidth while hardly downloading fast at all. I have 2 roommates on a LAN so I can't be using ALL the bandwidth my cable modem is providing....

I'm not a comp expert at all, but how the hell does COX know if you have a P2P program running? And if they do, isn't that an invasion of your privacy??

yeah, that does sound like an invasion of privacy. how do they know?

i'd be dropping that ISP pretty fast and moving along to another one if i knew they were in any way monitering what i was doing.

i dont think its a isp problem. i get the same thing. finally gave up on bit torrent. search there forums lots of people were getting this problem. maybe they have a solution by now. its been a few months since i finally said fuck it. i have charter by the way.
