i feel a cold coming on!

Anyone know of ways to prevent it from hitting me hard? I got the post nasal drip, the fatigue, and the clogged ears. What can I do to make it go away and keep from getting sicker?

Glutamine powder--20-40 grams in water.

If symptoms remain, find the herb usnea whole lichen and follow bottle directions.

Both methods will eat through a cold.

L-Glutamine in a juice at 10g 2X a day every day and I havent been sick for more than 3/4 a day in 3 years now....

Actually switched to glutamine peptides about 8mo ago, but same results none the less.

THX, I'm the same way. After my spleen was removed nearly right away I noticed that I was getting sick more often than normal. I came down with pneumonia January 2 years ago and so I started back on the glutamine. Same way that you're describing...I haven't had a cold since (except when I can feel one coming on, and then I take a heavy dose and it's gone in hours).

That was always my question about whether the peptides would be just as beneficial. Now I have that answer!

Thanks

keep in mind, though, the peptides taste like CRAP! Sorta like raw chocolate w/o any sugar and they have a hard time mixing in juice, etc..L-Glutamine doesn't really have a taste and if you get something like AST's micronized form the stuff practically mixes itself...

Sirwanksalot posted a few links to some outstanding prices on the topic heading (in this forum) "supplements on ebay". At one of the links you can get a kilo of either regular glutamine or peptides for 39.95.

He definitely should get karma for the outstanding recommendation.

to prevent/cure colds:

Echinacea,
Zinc lozenges,
Vitamin C
Grape seed extract,
Green tea extract,
Selenium

Glad to hear it! It gets to be a chore sometimes to keep taking it; especially when other supplements cost so much. But it's worth it in the end to get on a maintenence dose.

Antioxidants are good...
Here are some immune stimulating herbs I found at BAC
Schizandra
Reishi
Paud D' Arco
Astragalus
Andrographis Paniculata
Mushroom Immune
Neetle Root
Echinacea

I like Echinacea but I'm trying the Astagalus right now to see if it helps. L-Glutamine never helped me much.
