I don't know about Jesus

OMEGA

New member
I understand the practical and spiritual function of Jesus

but my undersatnding of GOD

is more closely aligned to ISLAM

though my DIRECT Blood line has had priests in it in every 2nd generation since the beging of christiandom

please shut up till you actually research ISLAM before commenting on it thanks

also for those who hate ISLAM who do you think created the first modern CONSTITUTION?

oh and who do your think saved ISLAM from DEATH in its beginings

the CHRISTIAN KING of ABYSINNIA......

any way here is the hypothetical

if we look at the stars and heavens and can even phathom the existance of another planet with sentiant beings

what happnens when we have a PLANET full of sentiant JELLY FISH?

are we goign to tell them JESUS is their savior?

for the Chrstians who refuse to believe that there can be no other than Jesus, their may be another possiblity what do you think?

ther may be a JESUS figure for every type of planet, Race, etc

so maybe there is a possiblity that JESUS is the "Son of man"

but maybe on another planet he is the "Son of the JElly Fish"........

ps I am not kidding

I made up my own god

hes name is zaur

I worship him, I dont know if that does anything but who cares. Gotta have someone to look up to

I ran into some serious difficulty a ways back because I (of course AGAIN) trusted the wrong people. I was forced to rely on the charity of a total stranger. He was a very large man that could have done whatever he wished to me. He offered me (a small woman) a place to stay until I found my own place. It was a studio with one bed. He was a very attractive man and yes, he did admit that he found me physically attractive.

He never looked at me or touched me or commented to me in a remotely sexual or innapropriate fashion.

He was a total stranger to me but he trusted me and treated me as if I was his sister. He gave me a key to his apartment and let me stay for nearly 2 weeks. He had many many things of great value. But he immediately offered (and delivered on his offer) to help me when he had heard what misfortune had befallen me.

This man was a muslim. I think of him kindly and often.

I have never met a man like this and if I am lucky enough to meet him again in this lifetime, I should think I would like to have him stay in my life.

I don't feel that any religion is "right" or even "wrong". I live by very simple rules... Oddly enough, another who enlightened me to this way is herself someone that turned out to be a "not so good" person.

I think it comes down to the individual - good and bad in everyone.

What happens if we find a planet with sentient jelly fish and they DON'T believe in a God, or a Jesus, or any kind of religion? What if they think we are foolish for taking religion so seriously?

Will you accept them for who they are? Will you even like them? Will religous terrorists on Earth take up the crusade to wipe out all the sentient jellyfish because they are infidels and threaten our religious ways of life?

IMHO, humans need to get over our religous "holier than thou" attitudes before we head out into space, or there will be problems down the road. Religion is OK for an individual as long as they don't judge others because they are different; once that happens then religion becomes dangerous. I shudder to think what a religous Earth could do in a galactic community, the horrors we would be capable of. :(

The teachings of Christ are tough and hard to follow. They hit most folks right where it hurts. Many believe Christ is the only way, honestly I believe that as well. One can't go wrong with emulating Christ, it's a tough/impossible task but one that will lead toward the light spiritually and mentally, a good challenge, a fulfilling journey, more fulfilling than anything.

Islam's roots are forged in the Old Testament, some Kaballah, some Judaism, Islam has solid roots, sometimes roots spring off into selfish routes, routes of men claiming and creating their own tenets. Although there are many philosophies/religions that have potential of making someone a better person, why not keep it simple, why not feel truth easily without much search, why not Christ? You mentioned you relate more to Islams thoughts on God (Allah), those are Old Testament origins my man. peace

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Matthew 7:13-15

Lovely gem you just dropped! True, true!

islams hadith:

the narrow path is like a line--------------------------------------

the begining point we start on the path, and in the end point we may be on the path

but in the middle we are lost and lights and flase door ways try to distract when we are in the whirl wind of life, those items try to distract us from the ultimate goal wich is to go back to the one source of all.......

God, GOd the one and only, the indescribable, we cannot understand this source with our primitive minds, but we can feel with our heart

it can all be done through the war within, through the cleansing of the soul, and the soul can be dissected into many parts

they do it by using this word

"NAFS"

start there and find out who you are.........

I have an ancient text here given to me and its weapon

only thing is Is thati was told to not show to any one I do not trust..........

:( not sure why

and it has it roots from Islam

not saying I am a MUSLIM, but many of you need to look deeper its not what I thought..............

I see little difference except one says Mohammed and one says Jesus

Salvation comes only through Allah. Only those who obey Allah and Mohammed his prophet can enter into Heaven:
"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (Submission to Allah), Never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost ." (Koran 3:85; cp. 5:10; 25:68)
Those who "believe not in Allah and His Messenger, He has prepared, for those who reject Allah, a Blazing Fire!" (Koran 48:13)

*******************************************

Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ:
"Neither is there salvation in any other [than Jesus]: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Also see: John 8:24; 14:6; 10:1-2, 9; Acts 4:12; Revelation 5:1-9; 1 John 2:22, 23; Isaiah 43:11; Hosea 13:4; 1 Timothy 2:5

Hey OMEGA, I take it you just read Ishmael...?

you should read "The Myth of Sysyphus" by Albert Camus - one of his pre-existentialist works where he advocates for a theory/philosophy of absurdism: reject everything inherent in the world for it is irrelevant and illogical. Truth and every other moral and or academic stance is no more than a human fabrication--just some form in which we construe things and events in order to lend them some degree of meaningfulness for us. Therefore, existence itself is absurd--it actually has no meaning at all except as each individual chooses to give it, and most of it is not within the reach of human control.

Is this anything like, we're all just figments of our own active imaginations and once we stop contemplating ourselves we no longer exist?

I am the complete opposite then

it all has purpose down to the absurd you speak of

ths whole thing we see and feel was made out of love and compassion

you guys have no idea what God has done for you

or at least we all don;t see it at the same time, but eventually we all will one day lest a very few
