i cried today

Im at work in Australia and people are watchin the news and everyone is devestated and thinking of you all.

I cried too. I haven't cried over anything since my friend died 9 years ago. I'm so sad over this that I feel sick. I wish I could do something to help these people.

I'll tell you a little story about this.
I was meeting my Dad and one of our salesmen this morning in Burlington. They came down from Montreal to look at some new machinery for the plant.
Anyways we were sitting the lobby shooting the shit when this happened. We went to my Dad's room and watched this. Now both of them are real old school tough guys and friends and are both over age 50. Like most of our parents here they grew up watching things like the Vietnam war on tv. And these 2 men had a tear in thier eye as at their age they have nevr seen anything like this either as I was thinking this is probably the most major event most of here in our age groups(20-40) has ever seen. The last time anyone has seen anything of this magnitude would have been during WW2 with Pearl harbour, The bombing of London, Hiroshima etc.
Personally I think we see this shit overseas on tv when one of these nighclubs or embassies killing maybe 100 people.
But thousands of people were wiped out literally in less then 1 hour today. How many future generations of people were stopped in it's tracks today?
These assholes found our vulnerability today and they exploited it in the most horrendous despicable way and should pay in thier own blood.( I know I am Canadian but you yanks are a huge part of our lives despite what some of the village idiots on here on both sides of the border say sometimes as jokes)
I look at this day as "the day the world came to a standstill"

Being so close to NYC (about an hour drive away), it really hit me hard. I can't say I cried, but I was in a state of shock for most the day.

i could not peel myself away from the tv today at all. i think this affected all of us beyond our compehesion. it is comforting to see that everyone else on this board feels the way i do. as individuals we sometimes feel isolated in our views and tradgeties like this bring us together as one america. i am proud to live here, but ashamed that this can happen here. i hope we punish who is responsible. i feel sad for the victims and thier families, i dont think i will be able to sleep.

The news is saying they have more than enough volunteers at this point. I think the only thing you can do to help is donate blood. I saw on a canadian channel that the number to donate in canada is 1-888-2DONATE I believe I have that right. Canada is expecting to ship us quite a bit of blood. Sorry I don't have the american number right now.

I was, and still am, in shock. As for tears it hit me when I saw a news footage of one of the hijacked families. They stated the husband was able to call his wife at the time and say that they were hijacked and that no matter what happens he loves her. His jet was, I believe , the second one to slam into the Twim towers. God my heart goes our to all the victoms families.
