I crash everday

Everyday right after I eat lunch---no matter what I eat---I always crash and have to shut my eyes for about 10 mins. No matter how hard I try to keep my eyes open they have to shut for about 10 mins and then I am fine again---anyone know the cause for this?

A hyuuge insulin spike ?

what do you eat ?

How much do you eat...how often? if you eat only a few times a day this will happen..if I go more then a few hours or eat a huge meal, especially carbs, I will pass out! After I eat and start to feel tired, I just get up and start moving around before I reach a point where all I want to do is sleep

Could be the food, but it's more likely how much you sleep at night that is causing this.

How much do you sleep at night on average?

There was a study done saying it isn't so much the time of day or the food as the fact that you have a sleep deficit going on and the food makes you a little tired, but because of the deficit you literally have to sleep.

If it is the sleep then sleep more, if it's not the sleep then don't feel bad about it. Look at it as a 10 minute power nap. They really are rejuventaing.

I still dont understand the concept of powernaps, and im a college kid -_-. If i go to sleep for half an hour or an hour i just feel more tired when i wake up ;)

Heres the situation---I am a div. 1 college athlete for hockey---on average---i eat oatmeal and about 4 eggs in the morning at about 8am--next meal is at 12ish---usually a turkey sandwich--salad--and some cottage cheese----however it doesn't matter what I eat----I could have 2 grilled chicken breasts and a bowl of broccoli---and it will still crash---my next class is at 1pm and no matter what my eyes almost always have to close for like 10 mins---then i practice and workout from 2-6---then dinner---then some other meal---maybe chicken and pasta later--with a protein shake before I go to bed---I average about 7 hours of sleep a night---any more ideas

I'd have to agree with the last statement. Seven hours of sleep is probably not enough for a hockey player. Average people should get 6-8, usually 8. People that are HIGHLY active, such as yourself, however, need to get more energy from either diet or sleep. Most likely you're wearing yourself out and not rejuvenating yourself fully the night before.

I'd suggest trying to get 8-9 hours and seeing if that helps out at all. And don't look at it as a big deal, some people just need more sleep.

That true that 90% of the people don't sleep enough

But 90% it's not a choice and being able to sleep for 9 hours has became a luxury

cuz your sleeping to long, keep it to 30mins and you will feel good, much longer you will feel like shit, has to due with the stages of sleep you enter

sleep is extremely important for your body if you're a person that is very very active. that energy has to come from somewhere and you either have to make a point of replenishing your body with sleep and feeding it enough to keep up with what you're doing and how long you want to be going.

You might want to consider:
* Are you eating enough carbs, calories for your height, weight and age?
* You drink alot of water? How much?
* Sodium Intake?
