Look I wasn't trying to bitch slap anyone, it's just that most of the advice here is from people that haven't been in the biz. If you don't mind hard work, go for it. I just don't want you to attend the franchise sales seminar with all their pretty brochures and all this hype about a turn-key business and then end up realizing you got more of a headache than you bargained for.
Eventually you'll get a good mgr. that will take a lot of the headaches away from you, but you'll still have them.
I think the best advice would be to seek out outher franchisees, see what their making, and ask them how much their involved. When you grow you can afford things like area supervisors that really help you out and get you disconnected a bit, but the less you have a handle on it the more likely you can fall on your face.
I had a freind that was a mechanical engineer that owned 2 Hardees, and he didn't spend much time there and in about 3 years he was filing bankruptcy and sending out resumes.
Of course theres tons of success stories also. Just get out and talk to some people.
