I still have to wait for my modem to be sent. It is not going to cost anymore than I am paying already. I am disconnecting the additional line I have for the computer. I won't have to pay bluelight anymore either. :) ;)

its a world of difference girl.... have fun...

When I switched it worked out cheaper for me. I'd given up on dsl ever coming to our area and then, one day, it was suddenly available. One of my friends has 8Mb.

IMO DSL is way better than cable. Enjoy it

that actually depends on the provider and the area you are in. i had dsl but it would get knocked out everytime it rained. so i switched to cable which is 5 times faster than the dsl i had. dsl was only 1.5 meg now my cable modem is wireless and 6.5 meg. like i said it depends on the company and the area you live.

in my area when I had cable, it depended on how many people are on-line thats how fast it would be. If there was a lot, then it was slower. That was pissing me off. With the DSL, I dont share the line with anyone

yea thats why i went with dsl for that exact reason. its just it kept cutting out when it rained so not only could i not go outside, i couldnt surf either... and it rains here everyday. but with the cable modem speed being as fast as it is im happy. i download a lot of music and such. but if the dsl didnt keep disconnecting i would have stayed.

When I had dial upI also had a cellphone, and in order ot not tie up ur phone and have to pay for another phone line, just get call forewarding, its like 4 bucks...and when you get online you just foreward your phone to your cellphone

I download a lot of music too. With cable it was taking me 2-3min, with DSL its 30sec-1min. Thank God havent had problem with it yet.

I bought my brother his first cellphone because I got sick and tired of being sick and tired of phoning him to find that he was online. It wouldn't have been so bad if he ran a chat program but he never wanted to waste his precious dialup bandwidth. I got him the cell and two or three months later he moved to cable.
