I AM ENGAGED!!! Proposed last night!

I'm at work now... but I'm taking the time to tell everyone on here (my second family) that I proposed to my girlfriend last night, and she said YES!!! She's also known on this board as "Bondgirl2217"

I tricked her in to going to Buckingham Fountian in Grant Park under the false pretenses that I had to meet a friend in need... when we got there, I again, falsified a phone call with said friend and faked like he would be there in "10 minutes" ... looking at the fountian, I took out a couple of quarters and said "Hey, how about we make wishes?... I'll go first" So I stood there for a sec, made my wish, and threw the quarter. Then she went, did the same thing... (a side note, she totally biffed the quarter toss...), when she turned around, I asked her to make my wish come true (she was like eehhh???) and I got down on one knee and whipped out the ring and asked her to marry me... the simple deception of the ploy astounds myself... I am a genius. ;)

Sorry about the length of this thread, most of mine are brief to accomidate the attention span of many of the member (including myself) but I felt the length was needed for the proper embellishments.

So to all my peeps... or pepe's... Saint especially, you my dog, you invited to da wedding for sure, which will be next summer. Everyone else (I don't want to mention any other names, for fear of missing over someone) -- I will mention BabaBooey, Natty Anabolic though... who frequently chat with me on AOL.

Congrats bro!.....some advice though...stay as far away from the planning of the wedding as possible...It can get ugly!

Patience, trust, comfort, support, kindness and the strength to bear all things.

As for love, when your 25th approaches and you have both seen many of life's hardships as well as the joys that life has to offer TOGETHER and you STILL feel the desire to reach for her hand as you walk somewhere together... I will ask you what that is. In my estimation THIS IS TRUE LOVE.

ANd luck... well luck has NOTHING to do with a solid relationship.

What a wonderfully romantic proposal; simple yet obviously well thought out. Don't forget to do these things for her when you don't know how the mortgage will be paid or after her body has changed with the passage of time and the ravages of childbirth and the baby just WON'T STOP CRYING, etc and so on...

A solid relationship is like a garden that must be tended to with care just a little bit each day. If it is not neglected you will both reap the rewards and simples pleasures for the rest of your natural lives... and perhaps beyond.

Good job... It's always important to make the day memorable..

I had planned on asking my wife during a Surprise Hot Air Ballon ride.
Little did I know there would be 2 guys riding along with us to film the trip for some travel video.. They asked if it was OK and I said "Um.. Um... OK I guess....
Needless to say I choked and waited until after and pulled into a park and made use of a Bench. On bended knee and all....

We got a copy of the tape....

Not to sound like a dick, but man didn't you just meet her and isn't this you're first real girlfriend you've had? What's it been 3 or 4 months? Maybe your meant for each other, but me I would have to wait years before I was sure she's the one.

If it's golden though Congrats.

it wont be a thing that will happen quick not for another few years probably 5 because she has university and i want to travel the world peace keeping,but i would like it to be more official before i go
