First and foremost i believe the civil rights movement and desegration law of the '60's was just and long overdue...truely a disgrace on what our country stands for. what I find to be hypocrtical, though, is the fact all these northern do-gooder white peeps who marched at DC, in 'Bama and other places, demanding de-segregation of the south totally negleceted their own northern backyard...fuck i think michigan has to be one of the most segregated places in america. in every city their is a white town, a black town, and a very small rich black/white town. Even in college this is how it was. This is sooo noticable in the grosse point area. one side of the street is suburban mini-mansions, the other is low rent housing. I've noticed this in most northern cities, except in nyc
though i can't say I've spent a lot of time in the south, but when I have it seemed like their was a lot more black-white interaction.
I think my northern ancestors where to busy on their soapbox to step down and inspect their own neighberhood
