hypermiling anyone???

I think we should resort to violence and shoot people randomly and burn down our own homes. It worked in LA after the Rodney King beatings.

I took the back door off of my truck and it helps with gas mileage. I get probably 10-20 more miles now per tank. I get my tires checked every 3K miles with the oil change.

On another note driving with the air condition off doesn't improve gas mileage much. The guys on that TV show where they test urban legends (can't remember the name of it) filled up to SUV's and drove around a track until the tanks went empty. One had the AC on and the other had the windows open and if I remember correctly there was no major difference.

windows open usually produces enough drag to negate the a/c thing. . .in fact, many vehicles get better mileage with a/c on rather than windows down. . .

when you take the tailgate off your truck, over time, your bed walls will start to sag outward. . .the tailgate is part of the structural integrity. . .

It is a 99 Nissan pickup with over 100K on it with 5 accidents (four of them were rear-ends) so that doesn't bother me.

But I didn't know that and if I get a new truck I will definitely remember that. k 2 u.
