Hushmail Technical Support

DREXX

New member
Hush Communications would like to apologize to all email users for the
difficulty you are experiencing accessing your HushMail account. You are
encountering these problems as we continue to upgrade to Version 2.0.

Hush realizes that many users have been unable to access mail and address
books. We would like to emphasize that this data is safely stored and will
be returned as soon as possible. Unfortunately, we cannot return the data
until the upgrade is complete. Again we apologize for any inconvenience or
distress caused.

Hush understands this has been very disruptive for many of our users, but we
ask for your patience as the benefits of the upgrade will far outweigh the
temporary problems you are experiencing now. Regrettably, the delay could
not be avoided but we promise our users a faster, cleaner, improved service
once the upgrade is complete. We are sure that you will be delighted with
the new features, improved interface, faster service and more robust
security.

The upgrade was necessary so that we can offer the above immediate benefits
and future improvements over the coming year. Future improvements include
the ability for HushMail users to communicate with PGP users, the arrival of
a desktop solution that can be used with most email clients allowing users
to utilize full strength encryption without leaving their familiar email
environment.

We believe the service can only improve from here, and we ask that you bear
with us during the current delay. I hope this notice has answered your
concerns and I assure you that delays and the return of data and address
books are receiving our full attention. Hush will resume a normal service
as soon as possible. Although the upgrade has been difficult, I promise you
it will be worth the wait. We sincerely appreciate our users and we look
forward to serving you better in the future.

Thank you for your patience and support.

I think they took a gamble and lost. I no longer rely on Hush but Ziplip and other providers blow hard as well so once their bugs are sorted out I might be back since it is noticeably faster.

I wasn't directing that at you DREXX. I figured you were posting it to let people know.

Thier tech problems should have been dealt with before the upgrade. I have never heard of an upgrade that wasn't tested over and over locally before it was put on the web.

It's free though so no one can really complain.

That is fine Lincoln, that's what I figured.

This is there reply to my multiple email's complaining about there service thought you guys would want to see an update.

Although hushmail is a free service they should realize that they have (had rather) many clients whom depended upon there e-mail. I've e-mailed them 2 times concerning there service and got one response, which was just a cut and past of the upgrade procedure off there webpage.

I've tried to upgrade my hushmail account with 2 differant web browsers, 3 differant operating systems, as well as on multiple PC's. I've followed all there instrcutions and still can't access my account.

I just hope that elitefitness.com doesn't have the same situation occur

The hush issue runs a whole lot deeper than "well, its free, so don't complain". This company is selling security and privacy, yet they clearly don't know what they are doing, technologically speaking.
Where are your addresses? Where are your saved messages? Do you really believe they will restore everything in 3 weeks? It's been 2 and many can't even access the account yet, and no one has their folder's restored. They provide no means of backup, so you can't protect yourself.....elitemail users beware.

I received this email from Hushmail support today. It didn’t work for me :(, but it may work for you. Give it a try.
Thank you for your email. Please try the following:
  • Clear out your Internet cache (on Internet Explorer go to Tools/Internet Options and delete all temporary Internet files, on Netscape go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced/Cache and clear the cache)
  • Reload the page by pressing Shift + Refresh/Reload at the same time.
  • If the above doesn't work, go to Tools/Internet Options/Content/Publishers and remove "Hush Communications". Restart your browser.
