nah, gotta pick up an aunt at the airport actually, she just HAD to come on Friday :s

anyone know WTF I can find a site that tells me how strong will winds be in my area, if checked weater channels and wunderground but they only give me the damn speed in the eye... I'm still not sure HTF this will affect me....

I think 40mph gusts... not sure... oour local news station has a piss poor weather section, they say 30mph but hasnt been updated in hours

You're not shittin.

My coworker just texted me, "Hurricane warning for the whole state, yay!!! Let's go diving on sat morning. You in?"

lolol he's staying on the island at his parents house....they are gonna leave the cars parked on main land but he wants a front row seat I guess. I'll pass on that, I'm getting close enough staying a few miles inland.

^^^A few miles? I'd be staying a weeeee bit farther in than that. Especially with the tripple digit wind speed

ive been so busy with my crap i didnt even realize im right in its path up here in North Jersey..... Ill bet it will be just a thunderstorm by the time it gets here. The thing I hate the most is there will definitely be flooding.... my area floods all the time.

80mph in NYC, I'll believe it when I see it. I have seen gusts of wind that fuck shit up, but not sustained winds. It will kill people here if we get that.
This city is not prepared for that kind of shit.

On the bright side, East Florida surf will prob be awesome this weekend. :D

Glad you're not ending up in the middle of that, Nan. :)

That is exactly what the issue is....We are not prepared for that type of stuff up here in New England. Once in a blue moon we get these storms.

lol...It will be a big nothing by the time it gets there. It's not even the wind that gets people unless it's a 4 or 5 (which it won't be), it's the surge, which you guys will get none of. lol at the NE media causing people to panic over what, at worst, will be a tropical storm by then.

The NE is built to face noreasters, which are our version of tropical storms/mild hurricanes, you'll be fine.

PS - pouring rain right now, but still going straight down. Wind, but no worse than 30mph gusts at this point.

LOL, the hype was humorous though. We were east of the eye so we really did not get much rain or surge. We did get wind that knocked down trees and power lines. Nothing too severe though..We have had worse damage from ice storms LOL.

Really? Cuz 1 in 3 homes lost power here. Bridges are wiped out everywhere. I lost two trees and the ocean trounced the beaches. In some areas, it will be a week before they even come close to getting power back.
