Hunter S. Thompson Style Hawaiian Shirt

I'm looking for articles of clothing for a Raoul Duke/Hunter S Thompson (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) halloween costume. The hat, cigarette holder, sunglasses, and hiked up mid-leg socks are easy to come by.

The main thing I need is a good hawaiian shirt similar to one in the movie. Also wouldn't hurt to find a jacket like Depp wears in the movie at if all possible. The shoes shouldn't be too tough - old canvas Converse should do the trick.

I haven't dressed up for a halloween party in years. I think the best thing about this costume is that half of the people won't have a clue who I am. It'll be that much better because those that do know have likely watched the movie, and probably found the same humor in it I did.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm sure this has already occured to you, but try checking the thrift stores. Even if they don't have a hawaiian shirt, they're bound to have something funky that "Duke" would wear.

Anyway, if you have the yellow tinted glasses, cig holder, and black med. bag, anyone with half a brain will get the costume.

Two of my buddies did this a couple years ago.

One was Duke and one was the lawyer guy. It was fuckin' hilarious. They spent the night before watching the movie and taking notes on quotes to use. They were bustin' out with that shit all night...

"Hey man you want a beer?"
