hummer or vette

There is a distinct price delta between the H2 and new vette's.

Why are you comparing two completely different vehicles anyway?

Hummer all the way. I'm too big for a Corvette. I like the things, but they almost make me claustrophobic. I don't like to feel like I'm wearing a vehicle.

Loaded H2. My aunt just dumped her C5 vette after racking up $1,000 a month on repairs for nearly a year.

I'll take both.

The H1's start at around $95K.
A well-loaded Wagon runs near $125K

Easy to pick up 1-2 year-old H1's for $70K, great deal because you still get the depreciation schedule 179 deduction. Also most have barely been driven off road. Plus after 15+ years in production, they've got most of the kinks worked out.

Just be ready for $$$$ repairs. And most of the parts are either right or left sided and come primarily from Hummer/AMC.

Front calipers + labor: $800
Front differential : $2,100
Oil/fluid changes every 3,000 miles.
Tires $300+

My 911 repairs: $0

Oh yeah, bang for the buck the Z06 is the best thing out there except:

1. Everyone and his mother has one
2. Insurance is unreal
3. Depreciation is ridiculous

try a 2001-2002 Lotus Esprit. ($50-60K)

1. Reliable, yes, reliable
2. Great looking car,
3. Nice, full real leather interior- very little plastic fobs.
4. Lightning fast (4.5 sec) and easily upgradable exhaust, air, chips
5. Best handling in the world
6. Good legroom and headroom up to 6'2" (more than you'd think!!)
7. Reasonable resale.
8. Rarer than a Ferrari.

If I didn't have 2 years left on my 911 I'd be in that Lotus again tomorrow (I might anyway)

Lol. I knew a guy that had to get a rental car while his was being fixed. The car they gave him was a Geo Metro. This was a pretty good sized guy, so it was hilarious to watch him try to get in and out of the car. He was definitely not made for a Metro.

I have had my vette since 2000... Also had an h1 open top, the engine went twice so when the h2 came out i was all about that, did an even trade from my h1 to h2...

The reason i ask is my little brothers 16th b-day is coming up and my parents are going through some rough times and i was fortunate in my inheritance and what i did with it. Anyways i figured i'd help everyone out and give my little bro one of my cars. But i can't decide which one i wanna give up for the moment.

well I'd say give him the vette but that could get him in alot of trouble. So maybe the slower of the two!

i would prefer the new mustang cobra over the zo6.... chip, X pipe, borla or flowmasters exhaust system and you are looking at 500hp. the zo6 with most likely out handle the cobra but who cares...

Your definately right about a z06 out handling a mustang, all a mustang is is a boat with horsepower, they handle like shit, I know I work at a ford dealership and drive them all the time!!! I think if some work was done to a Z06 like the work done to a cobra SVT, it would still leave a mustang way behind in a race!!!
