Huge Props to Genarr3

For years I was shoulder dominant on bench press and had to rely on neutral grip horizontal press and cable crossovers to build my pecs.

I tried like hell to retract my shoulder blades and concentrate on the pec muscle contracting during the bench but all to no avail.

This Wednesday I was back at it when Genarr3's post of bench press form replayed in my head. I pulled my feet back under my hips and planted them firmly on the floor so I could use them to push off. It seems that one change made everything fall into place. It gave my back a nice natural arch, and retracting my shoulder blades during the bench was a cinch.

I couldn't believe it; 2 extra reps on my set to exhaustion. I could feel the contraction in my pecs and afterward, my pecs were sore for the first time ever.

It is goddamn exhilarating to make such a useful discovery at this point. And to think it was in the fundamentals all the time. Today I am humbled.

Thanks and although I pour over every word in that post it was not written by me. I know how you feel give it a few more workouts and you're really going to start feeling it.
It's amazing isn't it? You didn't get a bit stronger, but you're able now to lift more weight. It's all a matter of knowing what muscles to use, and use ONLY them.

Is that a bbing technique, or a plifting technique? I do agree you need to plant your feet firmly, but im not entirely sure on arching for bbing purposes.
