HST questions

Few questions for those who have done HST cycles.

1) Where did you see your best mass gains? I would figure that the last two weeks would be the best being only 5 rep sets, of heavy weights, and less cals burned...whats your experience been?

2) When I'm finished, for the second cycle after my strategic deconditioning, is it okay to change exercises...for instance, switch hammer strength shoulder press with seated barbell shoulder press? deads for rows? incline bench for flats??

1) I typically saw them during the 10's oddly enough. Some others theorized that this was because when you go from the 10 rep to the 5 rep phase without changing the number of sets, the volume drops a lot. So this time in the 5's I'll be upping the sets to compensate.

2) Yes.
 
Ditto but I wouldn't substitute deads for rows, they're 2 totally different exercises.
