I'm hoping someone can answer this. In regards to HRT, wouldn't using Test be just a " quick fix" to the problem? I had blood work done in June, had a low test level so the Doctor put me on HRT. 400mgs cyp per week. Did this for 10 weeks and felt great.
Had some blood work done last week, my test level was 92, seems I am a candidate for more HRT. Wouldn't it make more sense to try and elevate the natural production of test?
bro, hormone replacement therapy, as its name implies, is for people who are hypogonadal, and therefore, cannot produce enough hormone on their own, so need a replacement. it is done under the assumption that you will be on it for life so it isn't meant to be a quick fix but rather a permanent rerplacement.
if your doc thinks that 10 weeks will elevate your natural test levels you need to find another doc. maybe i'm misinterpreting what you're saying here, but that's how it sounds to me.
sure you can try to elevate your own natural production of test, but 10 weeks of exogenous test will only make this harder to do as it will keep supressing your natural production.
you need to either commit to trying to increase your natural production, which may take a while and in which case you cannot use any exogenous form of test, or you can go on permanent HRT. what makes sense is really dependant on whether you can get your natural levels to a normal level and/or whether you want the hassle of doing this. keep in mind, however, most docs will not write you a script for test even if you are just above the low bracket of what's deemed 'normal' by the AMA/FDA. in other words, you may find that you can only get your natural levels to 350ng/ml which a doc would consider normal. this would NOT allow you to be a candidate for hrt but you'd still feel like shit.
but i'm very surprised a doc prescribed you 400mg ew, i have never heard of that before. i had a hell of a time just getting my doc to prescribe 200mg ew.
