Hpoglycemia Question

Train Harder

New member
Does hypoglycemia mean you are insulin sensitive or insensitive? Also since I have Hypoglycemia would r ala help or hinder my losing body fat. I watch my diet well and rarely if ever get symptoms unless I miss a meal or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Hypoglycemia means that you are either very sensitive or are overproducing insulin therby driving your glucose to a sub homeostatic level, hopefully until your glucagon brings it back up. R-ala would make it worse, it is a potent insulin receptor (glut-4) sensitizer, so your nat glucose levels would be driven down even more.

Damn good answer, KnoXville, if you don't mind me saying so. :)

Train Harder, you would do well to make Protein your number one source of nutrition and good quality fats second to that. Protein, as I'm sure you've already found out, will help to stabilize your blood sugar levels. Always stay very hydrated also.
