I've always liked HP laser printers, never had a problem with them (can't say the same about off brand compatible cartridges). My interest has only been in printing documents though so I'm interested in speed and b&w only.

I know a lot of people want color for photos. Frankly, I think most of them are shit. Husband and I have gotten to the point that we've decided when the replacement ink costs as much as a new printer, might as well buy the damned printer. We (literally) just bought a brand new, wireless, b&w/color printer/scanner/fax for the same price as replacement ink for his existing printer.

The problem is once you find a good quality printer the cost in I k cartridges seems to go up as well. I found some good deals today. If you take your old printer into staples they knock off 50 bucks towards your new one. I thought that was a pretty sweet deal.

Hp printers are good. Their computers are garbage

Compaq had a "business line" that was good. Their consumer line wasn't any better than HP. I had a compaq laptop that was indestructible.
