How's the security at your work ??

Well they just put in some key card access to the office.... Something they should have done long time ago.. As for entrance into the building, they only lock them down when the terror alert is elevated and you need a key card access to get in.

Think they put the access cards in after seeing on the news the worker who shot up his coworkers at Lockheed Martin last week...

Just found out this week they found a woman dead :( in the parking lot on Friday afternoon...Cops believe she "fell" to her death in the parking garage..Earlier this year they found a guy several times walking nude in the parking lot early in the morning (6am) and pissing behind the dumpster.. All in Reston, VA...of all places....

And i used to work by Tracks and thought it was unsafe!!:D

Where I work?

I have a gated guarded entrance, followed by smart card access to a room that takes biometric reading (fingerprint and body weight).

I have to go thru a PIN Required Badge reader turnstyle to get in or out.

No tailgating with them.. One at a time.

There is always a way in.

Umm, sure.

Physical security at some of the places I've worked has been just short of awe inspiring.

And physical security has made leaps and bounds, you're statement is a little out dated. It's not like the wild west or the 1950's. :)

tight.....

Security guard at every entrance.

Magnetic key cards to get into the main corridor and then 3 more magnetic checks to gey into my lab

ditto

and the cafeteria kicks ass

Wow this is hard to talk about without revealing too much.

Not tight enough in many ways, then very tight about stupid shit too.

Like for example during code Orange, you are not allowed to take the stairs. You must take the elevator.

Meanwhile anybody on the street could get in and up to any floor if they wanted to.

Very tight where I work. In one building, it's almost impossible to get in unauthorized. I am one of the security officers. I have to check everyone's I.D., whether I know them or not. Some of the more stupid people get offended, but I don't care.

People pretty much come and go as they please. We have class II and III pathogens and work with radiological substances.

Card with numeric PIN gets you into the first door, then the same card opens the second door where you present the card to a guard through a little slot in his cage, then the same card and biometrics (your hand) get you into the building proper.

The rest of the building is basically biometric's and PIN access with a card. We have about 6 windows.

That is Top Secret! And of course there is no physical address for the installation because it does not exist! '

Resident Evil Say What?

Truthfully it sucks where I work. I should know because I am one of the guards there. There are three main entrances to the facility and the security director just decided to guard houses installed at all the entrances. So everyone is suppose to have a parking tag on their rear view mirror. That notice was sent out more than a month ago and yet you still have people trying to enter so I have to stop them and like BiteMe said some of the more stupid people don't get it when I have to check their I.D. Bottom line: if someone wants to get into the place they will.

I am the security where I work. We'll be getting off a post, and say to each other "You know, if I wanted to attack this place I'd do <such and such>".

Every system has a way to be beaten.

Secret Service wanted to take my waiter's wine keys away once. They had "knives"? Want us to suck the corks out of the bottles? The inside poeple are always the ones that can do the most.

The place I work has the illusion of tight security. As a test I actually duped my ID card and put my dog on it. They saw eyes, a nose, and never even noticed. I did that for 2 days before I said I better quit while I was ahead.

There is a photo ID with a reader. Its not a swipe but is read by wall mounted readers. Ironically I have access to everything and some things that security doesn’t even have access to. This includes over 100 restricted areas. Security pretty much knows me and I could probably walk in with a bazooka on my shoulder. I also have access to “persons” that could actually “sway” the financial markets into the billions. Funny how a little peon can squirrel his way into everything.

I have found MANY holes in the security of my work place. Some are actually dangerous. But that is not my job.

So how do you abuse trust? You don’t. For some reason I can’t abuse given trust.

And you have? Please nugga, go back to your video games and weed.

High speed low drag never got you anywhere in life, why would it get you anywhere on the web. Slow down, think and leave the bong at home.

As a matter of fact, yes I have.

It sounds like this is a touchy subject for you , possibly because you just couldn't hack it.

No, but since I haven't seen you busting your way into Fort Meade or saic, I'll stick by my original statement.

LMAO

I never said I served with a US unit.
Keywords being any elite military/counterterror unit, could be a different country. Hell, I wasn't born here so the security clearance would be an issue.

Once again, you assumed too much. Assumption is the mother of all fuckups.

i have to pass thru a gate with a badge and occassionally searched by a gaurd. we have armed gaurds roving the facility and one or two have AK-47"s. just recenly an employee had an AK-47 pointed to his head, it was night time and he was on the waterfront side of the plant. i think he changed pants after that.

Well, I work in a bank...I walk into my office and shit down. That's about it. lol Getting into the vault is a little more work, but it's nothing that takes more than 30 seconds or so.

Sometimes I even park in the handicaped spaces out front, just to save myself walking an extra 10 feet. No one's ever said shit to me. Our security in quite sad really.
