How would you prepare for.........

skittles

Banned
I'm working a boat show this weekend. It's in a big area, and the only food around is fries, burgers & homemade fudge :worried:

I'll be there for LONG hours (13 hours a day)...........with no fridge etc.

The display I'll be at is very open, no where to hide to shovel in food.

My work supplies breakfast (from MacDonalds) lunch (fom the arena) & dinner from an ok place (I can get chicken, veggies & a potatoe)

Any ideas on how to prepare.......what to bring? I don't really want to smell like tuna (No place to brush teeth)

I could mix protein shakes with water..........I was thinking protien pancakes, but do they store ok?

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

make it a fat load day

almonds
cashews
even pork rinds

shake for breakfast

luch - hamburger patty and cheese

dinner - cleavage

I didn't see the P word -- protein bars --- a staple when I travel. And obviously water.

I like them :)

Any suggestions on a brand? I read on protein+ website that they use all natural ingredients (but only 14 grams of P per bar  )

Any that aren't LOADED with sugar alcohols?

I know - they have hersey zone ones now..........taste like a REAL choc. bar

Can you bring a soft cooler where you can stick a couple of those ice packs?? You could keep the tuna in there...... the pancakes sound like a good idea.... Plus nuts

I'm sure someone could get you some ice water to mix up a shake.....

If you end up with a fast food meal, just pick out the best option with as little "extras" like croutons, dressing, etc as possible....

I'm going with the pancakes.......cooler & chicken breast/salsa/nuts.......oh the options now!!!

I picked up a few P bars too - just incase you ever want 1 that doesn't contain SA I think I found it (moderate in carbs, but now that we all know SA count, these natural carbs seem better, protein isn't that good, but will do in a jam

Proteins + (like greens +) Come in Vital Vanilla & Classic Chocolate

1 bar: 200 cals

Fat 6
Sodium 60
Carbs 24
Fibre 4
Sugars 6
SA 4 (so there are a few)
Protein 14

Ingredients:
whey protein, enzyme blend, real belgian milk chocolate :p, milk powder, cocoa, lecithin, vanilla extract, dates, soy flour, brown rice syrup, rolled oats, whey protein crisps, soybean oil, soy crisps, dextrose, oat fibre, natural flavour

How do these sound?

I get the EAS Carb Sense bars. If you are starvin marvin, they help. Ya gotta eat!

Ugh! I hated those bars..... felt like barfing for 3 days afterwards.....

Lesson learned: only buy 1 to try & if likey, buy more....

Protein shake in water will be good for protein this way you don't have to worry about refrigeration. Just keep it out of the sun.

For fats, almonds or walnuts will do.

For carbs, some brown rice in a container. It can stay warm for a good amount of time as long as it's out of the direct sunlight. Or if you can bring a tupperware container and eat cold oatmeal by adding a little bit of water. If that's not possible, you can opt for some non-fat baked chips or such for some carbs.

"I caught you a delicious bass."

"How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains?"

"Napoleon, dont be jealous that I've been talking online with hot babes all day."

I love that movie.

Anyways....
Protein pancakes shouldnt spoil. I mean, theyre fully cooked.. right? Other than that.. protein bars, protein shakes, yogurt cups, turkey on ww bread in Saran wrap, nuts, fruit, one of those Cottage Cheese Doubles things, come on girl work with it..

btw, Skittles, tuna at the movies..... AWESOME!!!

You can buy an insulated soft lunch bag - like the kids bring to school. Buy one of those blue ice things you put in your freezer. It will keep your food chilled all day. I used to do that all the time when I went right from work to school (no fridge all day).

You can put up chicken breast, put in baggie, put potato in baggie, even green beans/brocolli. :) Plus, add a protein shake in there - voila!

That's what I'll do :)

It seems so simple now. LOL - thanks ladies

BTW, this is what I do every day for work. Currently in there:

- 2 shaker bottles w/ protein mix + strawberries that I blended last nite & put in the bottles
- 1 large salad w/ chicken
- 1 container w/ dry oatmeal which I will use as a bowl w/ hot water nuked at Meal 3 because I forgot to cook my sweet potatoes last nite.
- bag of fish oil caps
- 2 frozen ice packs
- 1 fork & napkin
- several "Wet Ones" carry packets

If you run out of room for the frozen ice packs, you can freeze one of the bottles of liquid (or put in some cans of Diet Coke) and use that as the cooling device. If you schedule your meals correctly, the frozen protein mix is melted by the time it is your "last meal".
