How would one go about getting his growthplates checked?

What kind of doctor should I pursue to get this done? Is it expensive? If they are closed, is there anything they can do to make me taller or am I stuck at this height? Before someone tells me that is a dumb question, i read on here somewhere that someone got treated for being short and ended up 5'11, can't find it now though. Thanks

Have an X-Ray taken of your Knees. If the growth plates are closed, then no you will not get any taller.

I saw an endocrynologist when I was in 9th grade. I was 5' and the Dr. gave me steroid injections. I can't remember if it was every 2 weeks or 4 weeks. I believe he gave me cyp. I could be wrong it was 12 years ago. Anyway i grew 8" that year. I believe the key is to catch it in a growing spurt. Also the doctor will run tests on your hormonal levels and treat as needed. If you are young enough to be asking if you can still grow I would not pursue treatment on your own. I believe you could cause more damage than good. If you are young and find your self unusally short then I would go see an endocrynologist. A.K.A. Harmone Dr.

Were your growth plates already closed, or still open but you were not growing? How did the doctor know a spurt was coming on and to start injections? If you can't remember thats fine. Thanks for the info.

Was gonna post a thread on this same thing, I am new here btw.

Ok, I've read old threads and alot of you guys did start AAS young, as did I, I am a fool for doing it but I didn't know at the time what I was really doing, I stopped now cold turkey. If I went to the doc to see about my growth plates being closed, or a harmone DR, do they do a test for roids? How long should I wait till I go, I've been off for 4-5wks now my balls seem to have gone back to normal. I know the AAS detection time is 2-3months for test. I Don't want to go get tested and show I have high test levels and not get any treatment if it will help me. But If something did go wrong, you think I will be able to get treatment and still grow? I know some of you will say, you fucked yourself don't come here for help etc, but to the ones that did AS young like me please offer some help, I been kicking myself in the ass ever since. Thanks

I will try to tell as much as I can remember. An endocrynologist is a harmone doctor. So I don't know if he checked my growth plates. I was about 13 or 14 years old. I had not hit puberty yet and was way behind on height also. The doctor checked my harmone levels. He said that my Test levels were low. This is why I hadn't hit puberty or started growing yet. He then gave me harmone therapy. Which is Test injections. This brought my Test levels up to where they should be. I hit puberty in about a month or two after my first injection. I then started to grow in height. I believe the Test caused my growth spurt to take place. I don't think steroids can make you taller. I think that they can only bring your harmone levels to where they should be to so can start growing like you are supposed to. I am 5'8" tall and hit puberty late. My cousin is 5'6" and hit puberty in 5th grade. So I belive you can only grow as much as you are supposed to unless you have a deficiency that can be treated. Also Sithe19 I think you should be honest with your doctor if you are having problems that affect your health due to early steroid usage. Hope I was of some hepl PLJiffy.
