Is this program made to get better at the full snatch ? and what are the benefits of upright rows ?

i see these done all the time at my university gym as part of the "special tailored" program available to varsity athletes. i would not use these for any more than a warmup, as you can't use any significant weight (and if you could, form would break down). plus, it's too complex; if it was made to improve your snatch technique, most people end up just going through the motions.

what is a high pull snatch? the high pull (though i think this exercise is of negative benefit) is used as a derivative to overload the first pull of a snatch.

most good athletes can snatch waaay more than they can upright row, so what's the point of using the complex other than for a fancy warmup?

just do your warmups by feel. some days you may need 30 minutes and work through most the the technique in full with a barbell, other days you can come in, do a couple of overhead squats and leg swings and snatch 90%.

in short: don't sweat it over this thing. you can't use a lot of weight and if you do, your technique will turn to balls if you're trying to learn.
