How to STAY BIG while CUTTING

Anyone know any good workout schemes or training programs, supplements, etc. that you'd recommend?

Here's an issue I was thinking of, if I drastically reduce my calorie intake(I'm taking in about 2,800 right now), I would probably lose some of the mass I have gained :worried: ... To keep from losing mass, is it a good idea to just stay with 2,800 and just ADD cardio(like 6 times a week) to my program? I lift weights 3-4 times a week right now, but don't do ANY cardio at all, so I'm kinda fat :verygood: Would I lose some of my fat and see my muscles just by adding 6x a week cardio? Do you guys think this would work?

Any suggestion would be appreciated. :supercool

There are so many different schools of thought on this, that you're probably gonna get a number of different replies. What I would do is lower your calories just so slightly so you are in a deficit. This is going to take some trial and error to figure out. Use the scale first thing in the morning. If you're losing more than 2 pounds a week, you are in too much of a defecit. Once you got that straight, I would start adding cardio.

Cardio can be a bodybuilder's worst nightmare b/c of the potential of muscle burning. Get your diet straight first, then worry about cardio .. So far, I'm doing very little (I emphasize very little) cardio, and I've lost close to 8 pounds of fat in 6 weeks, just by being in a defecit, and using cardio sparingly to kick start my metabolism. g/l

My advice whatever you do do it in increments!!! Do not drastically cut cals do not add 6 days of cardio off the bat..i would start at 3 30 min sessions per week..also so that you know whats working only make one change at a time meaning first adjust ur cals then the second week maybe add the cardio..As far as weights you want to keep lifting heavy, you may not make any headway as far as strength goes but heavy weights will keep your muscle fulls and strong..

www.getswole.com ask about swolegnx. Read some posts on his message boards. There are hundereds of people loosing fat and keeping lean mass on his program. If your lean mass is worth more to you than a minamal amount of money I wold check it out.

I went.. but there are barely 100 posts on the whole diet section of the board.. mostly about tuna & protein shakes... am I looking in the right place?

Once you sign up you get acsess to a private forum full of poeple on the program.......there are hundreds of poeple all having great results. I forgot about that, you have to buy the routine before you have acsess to most of the board.

Now that's some SOLID advice. I'd also drop my volume a bit. If I could spread more Karma to the Wanting Beast right now I would.

Bleh. Screw cardio. Honestly.

Cutting is all about diet, IMHO. Get yourself a good diet with like 1.5x bodyweight in protein, low fat, and low carbs, and you will preserve muscle.

Maybe it's just me. I dunno. This is exactly what I'm doing now, and I'm not losing much size. At all. Just keeping a strict diet and training hard ...
