How to sabotage an A/C system?

I am posting this for an acquaintance.

If you for some reason wanted to thoroughly disable a house's AC system so that only complete replacement of all compnents would get it functioning again, what would you do? Another criteria would be that it would not be obvious to a technician who came to fix it that it was intentionally sabotaged. My acquaintance was thinking injecting something like acid into the system with one of his pinz.

So this is a central AC system? Is he looking to take out the external hardware, or everything from there through the ducts?

I think what this person means is replacement of the stuff like the condenser, compressor, evaporator, that stuff. Maybe the fan too. Not the ducts. It's a typical central A/C setup in a house.

Code I am not sure what that means. If you do that and leave it like that for a day, then call the A/C repair company, would they come out, look it over, and say complete replacement is needed?

My acquaintance said if water gets in the lines that fucks up the system. I think it's corrosive or something.

Also isnt there a scenario where if you run it without refrigerant the compressor will basically implode, sending debris throughout the system? But I don't think it's possible to guarantee that will happen?

Go get a barrel of acetone...

Exposure to acetone results mostly from breathing air, drinking water, or coming in contact with products or soil that contain acetone. Exposure to moderate-to-high amounts of acetone can irritate your eyes and respiratory system, and make you dizzy. Very high exposure may cause you to lose consciousness.

Pour that shit right on top of the whole damn unit....it will get on everything...the coils, the vents....they'll have to replace the whole damn thing.

using the smallest drill bit about the size of a pin will release the freon ...this will damage the compressor!Won't destory the whole unit but it'll be damn expensive!

cut a hole in the coolant line then drop a cat into the intake fan. lastly mash all of the heatsink folds in the metal.

yeah what is the agenda behind doing this anyways?

I'm curious about this one. Does your friend sell parts for a/c systems and wants to go throughout the town and destroy everyones a/c?

Or does he want to collect insurance?

Turn the power off and then hit it with a piper wrench. Make sure to hit any hoses that are visible.

I think the deal is he has a homeowners warranty and he wants to get this old AC system replaced because his AC bills have been really high and he wants to get it replaced for free.

OK so someone also lives in the house so all the scenarios that would cause discomfort to the occupants would not be cool ie the shole sarin gas/acetone scnarios.\

ANything that is obviously intentional is out liek damging it with a cat or wrench.

One bag of shock treatment for pools and equal parts brake fluid in a plastic bottle placed on top of ac. Depending on outside temp allow about 5-10 minutes and you have a massive fireball and fumes.

again, when the repairman show up I think he might suspect that something is amiss and that the A/C did not die of "natural causes"

I think you would be better off finding an HVAC tech that will write up a phoney invoive. Otherwise, take a small tree branch and stop the main fan on top. Turn down the thermostat as low as it will go in the house. This should overheat the compressor, and blow it. Either leave branch in or remove. Act of nature if you leave branch in, compressor went out if you take it out.

If they send someone out and they think it was tampered with you will be on your own without an AC.

Don't put chemicals into the unit becuase they will vent into the house.
