How much should I lift?

I am 200lbs should I be able to bench my own body weight? Do you think thats a goal I should be looking to achieve ?
 
if you are starting out then you start light and slowly work your way up

there is no rule to how much you should lift. it is more important to lift CORRECTLY then worry about how much you lift. at my peak i was benching more than twice my body weight which is ridiculous and not something an averge joe will be able to do
