How much protein as a minimum?

How much protein would you say is an acceptable minimum for bulking?

The figures thrown around here like 250g seem a bit excessive. That's a hell of a lot of food.
 
arnold swazenegger was on 100g, but then again he took steroids. I try to do 100-250g. people will tell you its 1g per 1lb. but ive seen results on just 100g of protein. and i dont use protein shakes

One gram per pound of lean body mass.
This can be increased to 1.5 grams if your workouts are intense.

I get in at least 200g a day. I usually drink around 3 shakes a day. 1 in the morning, 1 around 3:00, and 1 before bed. What irishpride said about 1g per pound of body weight seems to be the general rule of thumb. Everyone is different, so you might be able to get away with only 100g. I know I cant get any less than 200, or I wont gain shit. I would do 300g if I could stomach it. I figure its better to error on the side of more than less.
 
I weigh 171 right now, and I shoot for 200 a day. Usually no more than 40g come from shakes. If I do get a shake it is either PWO or right before bed.
 
I don't spend much money on supplements as we are all being rear-ended by the supplement companies who make ££££££ on the back of our aspirations and all the bullshit they feed us (literally) about what we need. I eat every 2 - 3 hours, including before I go to bed and I make sure each meal has a healthy supply of protein. I'm making great gains. How much protein? well, with a continuous supply I take in around the 150 - 200 grams mark. I weigh 82.5kg.
 
0.8g * your weight

ie 200lbs BBer needs at least 160g

In reality it's certsinly less but why takes the risk of alowing down gains?

You can make it with 160g but I'd rather take 200-250g if I were you

you ever see pumping iron they ordered huge steaks and eggs do the math

i dont know how much you are eating right now but you cant just increase your cals youll have to adjust them each week or 2..

i would use a minimum of 1.5g/lb whether you are cutting or bulking

Arnold like every other BB since time began has been bullshitting people or at very worse, watering down what he does/Says. He once said he used D-Bol and Primo for finishing purposes only. LMAO!!! Arnold used everything he could get his hands on all year around! He might have finished off with Primo, but what about all the other weeks in between - Deca, D-Bol, and Winnie by the truck load.

Ronnie Coleman is very secret with his training routines, yet he still puts out a training video. Anytime a Pro BB says anything, I take it with a pinch of salt as all of it is in their own interests.

a min, id say 80, unless you are trying to get more lean calories in.

im 175 and i prolly eat aboiut 200. but there are days when i eat 300, and days where i get 50. so it averages out.
