where they bring your food to your car, i mean they dont give you fresh parmesian for your food, they dont refill your drink glass, they just bring it out to you

Seriously, there's still curbside food places?? Like the burger joints in the movies where they put the tray out your window?
NOOO like outback and carrabas have the curbside delivery where you call something in and tell them your vehicle and they just come out with your order
well its kinda like the old days just more expensive

probably shouldn't be ordering Outback at 5am, sweetheart.

I was wondering the same thing. I usually give them a dollar and change. Not sure if I'm being a cheap bastard, but all they do is bring it to your car, its not like they are delivering it to your house. Alot of restaurants are doing this. Applebees, tgif, outback, etc.

NEVER tip someone with change IE coins

Classless

Aren't those services for picking up phone orders as well? You call them, and just show up at the place and they come out to your car and hand it to you.

I've never used it but heard about it being like that.

Answer.

Just a couple of bucks. Normally, at a sit down meal, I tip 25%-35%, but I can't see doing that for walking a bag of food to the car.

I waited and bartended for a long time, so I tend to overtip on everything. With something like that though, usually 15-20%.

time moves slow in tennessee :)

Dont they do that at Sonic's? They have them here in TX... never been to one though. I get sick from fast food so I dont crave it.

I tended bar for years so I ALWAYS tip well, but what exactly am I tipping for? Hell, I can get out of my car and walk to the window.

Then DO IT! is what they'll tell you, with that attitude. Please don't make our job harder. We don't get paid much, just let us survive without having to work 3 damn jobs, you cheapo.

LOL - I WOULD! :)

I am not at all cheap. I have busted my ass in every service job I have ever had. I just dont understand what I am tipping someone for. I mean, where does it end? Do I have to give everyone xtra money just because they did their job?

I hear ya. I was jk. I really hate the tip jar things. wtf is that? I'm sure it's a very old topic but the tip jars are still out, so I'll keep complaining about them.

PS I do tip my change in the jar most of the time. whatever the change may be. Ehhh, fuck it.

LOL You old softie... TipJar at the Dunkin Donuts or places like Awe Schucks (which have AWESOME seafood minus ambience hehehe). WTF is that about? You arent waiting on me - you are just doing your job. So I should feel the need to put change in the jar....because?

I ALWAYS busted my ass on the job and earned every fucking cent of every fucking tip I ever got so believe me when I tell you I am very sensitive to peeps in the service industry.

I've tipped bartenders and waitresses so much that I'm always asked what I do for a living. Not because of the money I give, but because they think I am or was a bartender myself and can associate with the job and tipping etc... I've been asked way too many times. I'm also hot, so It may be people hitting on me.

jk About the last part.

Tipping is (or has become) the same as giving your kids presents only on their birthdays and xmas.
