If you didn't notice is the main ingredient in otc cold meds. There is no way on earth pharmacutical big wigs are gonna let the govt ban ephedrine. They would loose millions of dollars. If the govt bans it for health industry the pharmacutical industry would have to follow suit. It will never happen.

Nope, OTC cold medicines in the US do not contain ephedrine. Why, because the cold pills containing ephedrine where being used in the munafacturing of Meth.

Go pick up some Broncaid or Primatene it is ephedrine hcl. And if the govt were to ban ephedrine they would have to ban al l the alkoloids also. The reason the supp companys are pulling ephedra is because the can't get insurance for it. The petty lawsuits are draining them and sending insurance premiums through the roof.

I don't think Broncaid or Primatene are cold meds. I think they are for asthmatic's. I was surprised to find out they contain ephedrine. Probably because asthma can be life threatening so the FDA couldn't get by with forcing them to use pseudo-ephedrine. It really is worthless compared to ephedrine.

SportPharma's Thermadrene was the first of the casualties. They pulled the plug in 2002. No insurance .

Still OTC here in my state, but not for long I fear. Starting to stock up on 100 count bottles. Shit, 100- 25mcg tabs for 7 bucks, I like that

Phen Phen killed/disabled thousands in less then a year. Ephedrine MAY have contributed to the death of a few (<100) who had pre-existing conditions and/or who stupidly overdosed on it over the course of Millions of doses taken across US and china/japan for hndreds of years (ephedra form).

Drug companies make no money on ephedrine. it's more effective than the expensive prescription drugs it competes with (meridia xenical with more on the way). FDA made up of former and future drug company employees. Do the math.

Skullfucked is correct. The insurance companies are the reason ephedra is being taken out of the fat burners. The rates are going out of sight so they have no choice but to remove it. There probably will always be a few (the smaller guys) who continue to make it but get what you can now, that may change tomorrow.

Insurance companies are pieces of shit. They are up there with the ambulance chasing attorney's and politicians.
