How much equality between the sexes do we REALLY want?

Do you mean males get paid more for the same job in the same company? Pretty sure there are laws against that.
Look at the armed forces & police, men and women get paid the same but women don't have to reach the same standards as men and they're exempt from serving in the infantry yet they get paid the same.

Yes and I don't believe there are HR can give you a load a crap about yor background experience time with the company etc no one in my role gets equal pay I know for a fact me and another female in the same role are two of the lowest paid. I did get a nice bump on Friday but still not where I want to be in terms of pay. I do like the company I work for as well as the role I am in so I'm not complaining as much as saying it be nice.

Because equality means:

- women should pay for dinner AND give it up
- rather than saying a man should never hit a woman we have to start saying noone should ever hit anyone.
- Broads need to start holding the door for me
- Father should get equal time off for baby popping?
- Women shouldn't automatically get the house in divorce

1. You ask you pay that's my rule but I always have cash to split the bill. On part 2 of that in your dreams :)

2. True

3. I hold doors for other woman esepcially mothers with kids and elderly people.

4. Move to Canada they do get close to equal perental leave.

5. True

if i were you i'd go meet with your boss in the outfit in your avi, you will have his full attention

I think theres too much whining about equality. There are plenty of opportunities for women. I have a decent job, i make decent money (more than my husband!) and i could care less about what men make compared to women. We arent the same, we'll never be the same

I agree there is tons of oppertunity when I was in a straigh sales role I was the highest paid female at one point and in the top 10 in the company. Everyones base pay was equal never ever complained then.

Yes we will never be the same doesn't mean we should get paid less for an equal job and I do mean equal.

So do you want to be the one responsible for getting up 2-3 timesevery night for months on end to care for your baby all while working a full time job? How about doing the cleaning, dishes, and cooking? There are many men who would never do these things (my hysband excluded, hes awesome)
I'm pretty sure with you know who I'd be getting up half the time anyway. She doesn't cook (she reheats) and I don't mind doing dishes.

I'm not interested in equality.

You would change that whole thought process if you were married to a multi millionaire lol

I just want equal pay for equal work male peers still on average will make more.

If you account for hours worked and time on the job (experience), the gender inequality becomes very small or even dissapears.

Women often interupt their careers to raise children; and they do so by choice. You can make the argumaent that it's unfair they have to make that choice, but it's what accounts for nearly all the wage inequality these days.

There are many factors that determine one's salary. Are you saying you and your higher paid male counterparts have exactly the same prior work related experience, seniority in the company, education, and performance?
