440 pounds!? that's nuts... but believable.

I'll never forget the time i was in class (in the spring when we were at war with iraq) and we heard a giant explotion.. thinking a bomb blew up. I'm telling you, everything shook and everyone dropped to the floor... and it was no more than a sewer cap blowing up... and then it landed on a car... straight through it. Pretty scary...

I don`t know their weight but not 3-400 pounds. lol I used to remove them to work on electrical wiring for street lights. A long time ago. They were heavy but not THAT heavy.

We had 2 L-shaped rod that you poke in the holes and just pull ustraight up. Now that I think about it we did use 2 people. So they must have been a decent weight.

OH well, that did`nt help much. lol

We also removed those rectangle bastards like 2foot by 4 foot long, on the sidewalks. They were heavy.

The circle does NOT fall through itself. btw

You wouldn't happen to go to school in NYC would you? That same thing happened when I was in class... There was an explosion from a faulty splice, and it wrecked a car. Also knocked out the power in some buildings briefly.
