How Much Do You One Arm Dumbell Row???

Hey whatsup....so how much do you one arm dumbell row??? I do the basic of leaning my knee and corresponding hand on a flat bench and row. Im 5'7" 185lbs and recently my one arm dumbell row has shot up naturally and I have no idea why. A couple of months ago I could do only about 105lbs for 6 reps but now I can row 140lbs for 6. I don't bounce the weight like I see most people doing, I do a nice slow row. SO how much can you row?? Peace

Jesus You can "one arm row off the knee" 140lbs!? damn your a strong mofo! My gym doesn't even have 140 DB's.

I can hammer curl a set of 10 reps with 60lbs

The knee I can do 10 with a 45lb

thats great that you are getting stronger on your one arm rows, but why does it really matter how much we can all do?

I dont do them so I couldnt tell you, I much prefer t bar rows for back thickness

I have performed, 140lb dumbbells for 8 solid reps. This is using the tripod stance. These are the heaviest dumbbells in the gym. I prefer using barbell rows or t-bar rows. Really its not about the weight, its about the form you use.

I've done the 130's... but before I switched over to my bar-rows... which have upped from like 225 to 325... so I'm assuming I MIGHT be able to do more.

T-bar rows... interesting... I might look into adding those when I go back to Chi-town, as they HAVE a setup for that

me seinor year in HS, i did 100's for a set of 8, that was the highest weight, so i did DB rows last. i dont really do them anymore, i dont even like them..

I love doing them, I dont really like bent over barbell rows.

Tonight I did 70 lbs for 3 sets of 8. I think they have done a lot for my back.

I remember using duck tape to hold 25's on each side of the 100
s a few years ago...lol.

despite all the talk about it being a mass builder, doesnt feel like db rows have done anything for my back... just can't feel it. but when i do i usually never go over 80lb cuz my form gets off track and i can't feel it in the muscles. if i just try to lift the heaviest weight possible then i can probably do 120s. 5'8 170lbs.

EXACTLY the same for me. i did them when i first started training, just didn't FEEL them. have done them off and on but never got the feeling they did anyting. for rowing, i prefer bent over rows a hell of a lot more.

I make my own setup, I throw an olympic bar in the corner, and grab the narrow handles from the cable row. They will fit over the bar, and now you're got a t bar row that doesnt lock you into any particular angle like the machines do

Yes... I've done this before... :) My backworkout is set until I move back to Chicago... they have the T-bar there... so it will be a nice transition to switdch back there. :)

I can row 120lbs for 8 reps. For everyone doing T-Bar rows instead what grip do you use? There are three different grips on the T-bar I'm wondering if it makes a difference or if I should just use the grip that allows me to use more weight.

To make one-arm rows worthwhile I improvise when I can't get enough weight using DBs. I use a barbell, but load the weight on one side, and row that end of the bar just as I would a DB row.

This is a decent supplementary exercise, but never has been a big mass builder for me. For a big back, I'd rather all variations of the deadlift (snatch grip, rack, etc.) and all variations of weighted chin/pull-ups.

ive ripped 130's for 10 reps

i really feel the bi's burnin when i do these as well and in the forearms i think it hits a lot of bodyparts well...
