How many times a week does everyone do cardio?

Just wondering i do it 5x a week and take the weekends off i was told doing it more than that can be dangerous. What are your thoughts?

I've been doing two a day sessions 3x a wk after two weight sessions. These are usually a mile each and done as quickly as possible (6:30 - 7 min marks). I can say the combination of weights + cardio afterwards has been effective. Regarding 5x per week, it really depends more on your intensity and ability to recover. If you're feeling absolutely drained or just not looking forward to it, then I would cut back or crosstrain to get some motivation and avoid potential overuse injury.

I'm on the restricted calorie diet. So I don't do cardio.

I'm probably negating everything with the restricted diet by lifting weights, but I can't give that up.

No, I haven't lost any muscle. I'm doing the restricted diet for longevity, not for cutting (I'm already pretty cut).

4 - 5 times a week does it for me...............because it has to.

I was out of gym and on junk diet for a while (4 months) as i purchased a house on which i worked like crazy to get it back in shape (5 months of carpentry, plumbing and electricity wiring throughout the whole fuken thing)

So i let myself go, now i got love handles and somewhat of a gut (my beautiful abs, where are they??????) and started out slowly, but upped it to 5 times a week at 27 - 30 min a session.

Loosing fat and building back the stamina and repairing lungs on the way from all that demolition dust and cigarette smoke......

I do cardio at least 5x a week for 45 mins. to 1 hour at 65% of my MHR. Much depends on how much weight you want to lose, how old you are, what other training you do during the week, etc. I also weight train 4 to 5x a week, but then again I have a lot of bf I need to lose (50lbs) so it's the only way it's going to happen.

My last 'cardio day' at the gym was about a year ago. I play with and walk the dogs pretty much every day, though.

Well, I'm not trying to loose a pound but I do cardio 3x a week for 45 minutes at 6mph. (I do it because I don't want to loose my endurance) I also weight lift 3x a week at pretty much my maximum.

None. Cardio is too boring for me. My gym has cardio machines with mini TV's on each one, but the things are always broke.

I need to start soon though, I need to lose my winter flab.

I usually run 1.5 to 2.0 miles on a 3-4 incline at a real good pace after every workout. Works for me. But im already on a calorie restrictive diet and i am incorporating drop sets and shorter rest periods to boost heart rate while i lift. I work 12hr days most times plus a 45min commute both ways so i just dont have time to do 45-1hr a day. Ain't gonna happen.

I normally do a mile at 8mph (7.5 min) before my workout and then try (if i feel like it) at least a half mile after my workout (3.5 - 4 min). I really don't feel this is enough cardio for me, but I love to get it over with. Do ya'll think I would be a lot better off by concentrating more on duration more than distance?? I get a good sweat before my workout and can normally keep it throughout my workout and then do the half mile after my work out to spark the sweat for the way home. Do ya'll think I would be better off trying to run 15 min at 6mph or something like that, or is what Im doing now fine?? I'd really like to shed some bf%. Thanks

There are suggested 'guidelines' for cardio but again, with fitness in general, there is not one correct answer rbt...

I'm cutting so I'm shooting for 3 days of sprinting
2-3 days steady state
Some days I may incorp plyo work & kickboxing.

On training days always after Weights.
