How many push ups can you perform?

I haven't done a pushup in forever. In high school I got up to 100 every morning.

I hit 100 last month when I tried, but I stopped going since then. I actually forgot I hit 100.. Hmm. I should start again. Pushups rock. :D

When I was in the service I did 1000 min a day.
25-50 at a time.
I cranked 85 the other day non stop, I won lunch for my effort.

Wow! 100 is very impressive. must had a really full blown chest!

Yeah, uh, pushups aren't going to give anyone a full blown chest if they're done conventionally. The load isn't really enough to do much of anything in way of hypertrophy outside of a novice.

Im very light. lol, i weight 130 lbs, but my max is over 200. Havent done it in a while, probably around 215 ish or something. I hit 205 about 2 months ago, soo, yeah. lol. Its fun to do, and to compete against others with- as well as conditioning.

I count a pushup as chest or chin touching the ground and up to full extension. I see people doing pushups and they are doing half range and counting that as a pushup. I used to be able to do over 100 during wrestling in high school, haven't done them in a long time, i'll have to check.

I used to do 62 in like 45 seconds on the Air Force pft. 62 was maxed in 60 seconds. I have done like 80 before. I wiegh like 165 when performing those.

ive read that the first part of the SAS test is that you need to do over 70 press ups within 60 seconds.not difficult at all,and then follow that up with out pause with 50 genuine situps with in the next 60 secs.im sure it must eventually get harder than that because thats not much of a test at all.

I like to push right up and clap my hands as well when doing push-ups and 30-40 is an excellent score on that one.

wow i'm jealous. i used to be able to do about 30 - 40 when i did martial arts like five years ago, but now i can only do 25 at a time. my arms just give out.

what body part do i need to work on to improve the number of pushups i can do? do u think it's triceps? my triceps are my weakest part but i dunno if they're the culprit here. any thoughts?

It is mostly chest but triceps are included. And depending on how much u weigh is how much u can do. Just do bench press and close grip bench press etc. to get better pushups but also just do pushups that what will probly help the most.

Started two weeks ago on a new style of push up...I place a 35lb. plate on the center of my back while balancing my arms on a bosue ball (reversed)...can get 3-4 sets of 30.

Could all that strenth gain be from Anavar? ;)

Same here, I did them all four years in high school for wreslting. Back then I was a teeny 130lb kid. Most of friends were way bigger than me. One time I told them I did 3 sets of 80 push-ups for wrestling once. They flipped out and called me a liar. So, right in front of the majority of my school during break I did 80 push-ups and then 10 more clap push-ups at the end. It was such a good feeling to own my friends and have everyone in the school be like, "damn..." I could also bench 225 at the same bw. :)

Just started doing push-ups today and couldn't believe how little of an amount I could do. I can bench 250 once, but I can only do a little more than 20 push-ups. I weigh around 186.

Yeah, you have to remember that is like the minimum entry requirement mate. just to walk through the door to begin your test to start your training yeah. anyway. EVERY1 how many can you do in 2 minutes though? without letting your knees touch the ground but you can pause? try it if you dont know and also include wieght in kilo's
