How many of you tried 2.5g protein or more per lbBW and saw/noticed BIG difference

Anyone tried bumping your protein, not carbs or fat and saw big difference compared to your normal intake of protein. I eat about 2g per lb BW when I'm not on. I might do as Bill Roberts says and bump it to 2.5g per pound. Do you think it would make that big difference in growth?

Good question, try it and see. I have never been able to get past 2x. At 250-275lbs, thats a lot of food to get down when you have to work all day....

I remember a post by Fonz where he was using extreme amounts of protien. Something like 700mgs+, might want to shoot him a PM orsomething.

Personally I wouldn't expect a "BIG difference".

From what I remember your body can only use about 50-60 grams of protein every 2 hours. The rest gets pissed out. If you are serious about taking that muck protein get keito (sp?) strips. From what I gather you piss on them and they tell you if your body is using all the protein you are taking in. From there you can adjust the amount of protein you take in.
I'm a little foggy on the subject but I'm sure someone can add on to what I said.

Keto strips detect ketones in urine. Ketones indicate when your body has switched from burning carbs to burning fat. You are correct that we only have the enzymes to digest so much protein at a time however that largely applies to whole foods. Some suppliment manufacturers are adding things to up the digestability of their products, not sure how successfull it is though.

So keto strips aren't helpful in seeing if you are using all your protein? Don't they make some kind of strip that tells you this?
