how many of you do rotator cuff work on a regular basis?

Every shoulder workout includes rotator cuff exercises.

I had some pain a few years back, and including a few 'cuff exercises in my routine seemed to help.

I do b/c I am still in the midst of a rotator cuff injury. I would suggest everyone does some rot cuff exercises at least once a week. It's one of those injuries that you don't think about until you have it, and it ain't no fun.

Should these exercises (for the Rotator Cuff) be before or after other shoulder exercises? I have seen in books BOTH viewpoints. So who is right on this? Before or after and why? Can anyone give examples in detail of damn good exercises for Rotator Cuff? Any Physicians that specialize in this area that would contribute to this subject? Thanks. Take Care, John H.

I warm them up before every chest/shoulder workout.

I really should hit them directly more often though.

only with my right arm for about 5 minutes at a time.

One rep: are refering to Flogging the Angry Bishop? or to actual r.cuff work?

if its the latter: what do you do? I have issues with my left shoulder lately that need adressing before bad things happen. I need some real advice here.

I do, but only cuz I tore mine many years ago, and if I don't warm the shit up I get wicked pain the next day.

I was talking about the bishop thing. Sorry. It seems like those rubber band things would be good for rotator work though.

i do them every time i do shoulder work

i really hurt my RC in both shoulders a year ago and i never want to do that again

i haven't had any pain since i started doing the RC exercises

what type of movements are we talking about here? I do dumbell cleans every week not sure if that qualifies but i think it does. Are you guys talking about band work? Internal and external rotations? what.

i did bye-bye's on one of them balls with dumbells

and I did external rotations with a dumbell lying on my side on a bench, and standing with a cable. i didn't think to do inward rotations.....

I did a lot of rehab on my rotators in oct and nov of last year. One and two pound weights, front and lateral raises. Did the trick. Now I'm benching 135 for 5 with no pain at all anymore.
