how many here actually bodybuild?

I watch those ab-doer commercials on tv and get real motivated for a few minutes, does that count?

Yes I do.

And with over 17176 current members I would believe that the majority does. We all do not live it on the same level however or go to the same extremes as others never the less still live the lifestyle. There are a few on here that may not make body building, fitness or even regular exercise a part of there life. But I would hope the reasoning for those being here is to do so. Even if they are just reading and learning.

I use to be in bb more when I was younger, but now that I'm 40 and qualify for the masters division I'm thinking of getting back in it . Just have to find the time it takes.

I do, during the school year I goto the gym every day to either lift weights, do cardio, or go in the pool and swim.

I have some ab contraptions and a weider bench that I use to throw my dirty towels on, does that count?

To be honest I am surprised that so many here do. This used to be a very serious board with many bodybuilders and many who compete. Seems as though its changed alot the past 6 months (not a bad thing). Maybe i will see ya on stage.

Weightlifting is my form of Prozac.... if you look at me you would say..."That dude lifts weights" however I am not freaky huge....... just more muscular than most............

I wouldn't say I'm a bodybuilder...I lift 5 or 6 times a week (required for me to grow)...and I strive to better myself in mind and body. I guess weightlifting is my best chance to regularly face my own limitations and break through the barriers if I can. Of course, one side effect is a better physique so maybe I'm just kidding myself that it's mainly about pushing myself.

I lift 6 days a week now. I make sure I have at least 150g of protein in my diet each day. I constantly try to improve my strength.

By that definition I do NOT bodybuild.

Bodybuilding, in my opinion means trying to enlarge your body's muscles. Well, I am trying to make them stronger, but I don't want them to be so large that I can no longer cut down to below 140lb when I need to.

Just because you go to the gym each day doesn't make you a bodybuilder.

Me!

Definately a lifestyle, I get alot of stick for it because I am the only one who does it and is dedicated to it now

But fuck them

its a lifestlye for me.

i would also like to hear some ppl's definition of a workout or see their routines...i bet alot of ppl are fucking around and wasteing their time (not just saying here,,in general)

Me.

And what's up with that little file icon under your stars?

I don't think I do

Dead lifts, t-bar, seated rows, cable shrugs on day 1
Squats, hack squats type of stuff on day 3
Bench and heavy dumbell chest workout on day 3
Day four Kill shoulders and arms as one unit
Day off
Next four days kind of lighter but working abs more, neck, forarms, calfs then I get a day off and I go back to the previous heavier four day thing. Don't think I'm a body builder, more a "don't want to shrink " sort of thing. Probably don't eat enough or often enough, don't care about the beer, like my fry ups (so my weight wanders all over the place over a year, at my best behaved about 9% at my worst about 23%) I think I'm sort of...psychotic in the gym, psychotic in my other training but damn lethargic when it comes to the real discipline which is the diet and supplement thing. But Superbabe reckons she can sort me out....but don't think I'm a body builder....is there a term for it...wanker or something?

an avatar?

im a bodybuilder, i do pecs, biceps, pecs and erm, biceps. oh and i do legs too, ya know, when i bend down to pick up the barbell :)

(i actually used to be an 'upper body builder'.....so many wasted years :( )

I tend to follow a pattern.
Lift weights, get bigger,do cycle, get even bigger, get injured, stop, get fat, diet & cardio, start over.
Right now it's back to diet and cardio.

You probably know this already but make sure it's under 100 x 100 pixels.
