How many cops juice?

aw enforcement has METHODICALLY AND PURPOSELY made the population totally and completely dependent on law enforcement for their own personal protection because so many freedoms of self-defense have been taken away

The second amendment is the most important. Without it none of the others have effect.

Guns don't provide police with power, the justice system does. The courts and lawyers, are all interconnected. They're all people and people tend toward sloth in this era.

Think about it, next time a cop wants to search you, tell him that you will allow no such thing. Try to defend yourself without a gun. You're a big guy, Hulkster.

You will probably end up in a lot of shit, like I did, not so long ago.

If cops grab you and you resist, they will claim that you initiated violence, or it looked like you had a gun, or you said you had a gun.

There are a lot of ways for police to get away with illegal searches.

So you see, even if guns were legal, the root of the problem is still in the criminal justice system which allows this to carry out.

As far as guns giving cops supreme power over anyone is ludicris.

I'll interpret that as "It is ludicrous to believe that guns give supreme power over ordinary citizens."

To which I disagree. It is not ludicrous. Guns give police opportunity to shoot others. Such opportunity is not available to me, an ordinary citizen.

What is more to my point: Our courts, laws, and procedures
give too much power to police. Such power given to any man invites him to abuse it.

To quote Lord Acton:
You cannot give a man power over other men without tempting him to misuse it -- a temptation which roughly increases with the amount of power wielded, and which very few are capable of resisting.

I've said my bit

While I think you are doing a very good job of answering important questions and improving my opinion of cops, I will return the favor and correct the opinion of the average law enforcement official who thinks people like me are bleeding-heart liberals. WRONG. I am a "conservative leaning", registered member of the Libertarian Party. I despise Bill Clinton and his cronies, think that the ACLU is an extension of the Communist Party of America, and am against all of these laws being created by Democrats and Republican alike that tax the hell out of Americans in order to fund social programs to get the votes of minorities who are continually dependent on government handouts, take away our right to bear arms and use eminent domain to steal our property at dirt-cheap rates, as well as I, and Libertarians as a whole, are against the federal government's hypocritical laws concerning drugs. Why is tobacco and alchohol completely legal, with no restrictions other than age, while AAS---and soon ephedra----are banned? Because it's about the BILLIONS of dollars in tax revenue collected from the sale of tabacco and alcohol products. And yet the government says they BAN "drugs" like AAS because they are bad for the health of Americans, BUT ALCOHOL AND CIGARETTES ARE COMPLETELY LEGAL? It's all about the money. The only difference between a legal drug, and an illegal drug, is whether or not Uncle Sam gets a cut of the action by way of taxation.

Amen brother, spoke like a true American. Gun control only takes away guns from law abiding citizens. Did you guys hear about the guy in New Jersey recently that shot an intruder that was in his childs room? He got 3 days in jail for it. Can you believe that shit? He got arrested for not having the gun liscensed even though he had tried to get a liscense for it several times in the past. The guy was a straight up law abiding guy who worked 7 days a week to support his children. Then, because of a bullshit gun control law, he goes to jail for shooting a prick that breaks into his house. Imagine if he wouldn't have had the gun what could have happened. America should punish those people who use firearms illegally and not punish the law abiding citizens.

If you don't recall, this is somewhat similar to the Bernard Goetz case in New York City many years ago. Goetz, a Casper Milquetoast type (who, by the way, desperately needed to do a few cycles), was robbed several types in the past on the NYC subways. Quite simply, he was an easy mark. By now, he's mad as hell and isn't going to take it anymore, but to obtain a CCW in NY is impossible. As a result, Goetz is now constrained to begin carrying in violation of law. One night he caps several street hoodlums when they surround, confront and attempt to rob him by brandishing a sharpened screwdriver. When all is said and done, Goetz serves time on handgun charges. But that's not all, he's later hit with a multi-million dollar judgement in the hoodlums' civil suit. A sad state of affairs indeed.
