I'm restoreing a 22 Gig database over the network
via 10 Megabit token ring.
Let's see, how many bytes in a megabit ?
Is that 1,000,000 bits = Megabit ?
So thats 1,000,000/8 bytes *10 per second transfer rate?
1250000 bytes per second ?
And I'm restoreing 22 Gigabytes?
Thats 22,000,000,000 bytes / 1250000 = seconds to restore
That's 17,600 seconds....divide by 60...
Ho Damn...this is going to take 4.8 hours!?
