How low is too low with cals?

I am doing a diet right now that is focused on protein shakes, flax seed, salmon oil, and post work out shake. It is easy to do because I am in college and eating in the dinning hall would kill any diet. However, the calories are very low. For me a 195 lbs 6'3", 13 percent body fat 1450 to 1750 calories per day. Chris Shugart, who designed the program said he lost 16 lbs in 4 weeks without any significant loss in lifts. I am on day three, and my lifts seem to be going down. What do you guys think of the "Velocity Diet".

What are your stats bro. I think the way he did it was taylored for his stats. I would need more carbs to keep my lifts from up. I think ther more bf you start with the higher your carbs can be and still cut though. I started my cutter at way too high bf%. Hence my cut diet could probly be a bulk diet for someone else.
