how long to loose bf ?

I was wondering how long it would take to go from 12% bf to 5 to 6 %bf naturally and healthy? I weight 150 lbs and im about 5' 7".
 
1-2lbs a week is about the most one cand handle - 3500-7000 calorie deficit

anymore and you will be very hungry :)
 
yeah i know that but its not cuz ill be really hungry its cuz ull loose alot of muscle, but figured when u started loosing and ur bf is really low u would slow down to almost loosing nothing i mean 15lbs is all i need to loose i think but i dono how hard it will be when i hit about 7% bf and how much will be muscle??
 
oh yeah right now im eating 1800 - 2000 cal. a day and im gaining about 1 to 2 lbs a week but i think its all muscle cuz really the whole thing doesent make sense i mean i work out 4 hours a day so i probly burn more than i eat. in 1 hour of running i burn atleast 600 calories.
 
Losing BF and keeping muscle mass is a very delicate balancing act. You have to do cardio at a rate at which you will lose fat and keep muscle. You will also have to eat six times a day but keep calories low. This will keep your metabolism running all day long. If you are losing just BF you won't do it all that fast. Maybe a couple pounds a month. More than that and your losing muscle.

Let's say you're losing 1.5 lbs. bf/week (~1.5-2 is optimal, right?)...

LBM = 150*.88 = 132lbs.
.95:132 = .05:X ---> X (weight of target BF) = ~7lbs.
Target weight = 139 lbs.
(11 lbs.)/(1.5lbs./week) = 7 1/3 weeks.

If you're doing things right, look at about 5-7 weeks I'd say.
 
thanks for the link coolcolj and yeah thanks for everyone elses help and yeah i was guessing id loose 1.5-2 lbs. a week, but has anyone on here gone really low 5%>? And yeah right now im eating 6 meals a day at 1800 calories and im gaining like i said so how far do u think id have to cut it to?
