How long does brewed coffee stay good for?

Once you brew up a pot, how long can you keep it on that heat plate before its bad?

I just saw someone at work smell the pot before pouring, presumeably to see if its fresh right? Its 9am, how old could it be?

its good, but if it stays on the heat plate for long time, it gets stronger and bitter, thats all. Maybe for an hour its OK, after that it gets like I just said above

I've heard it stays fresh for 20min. After that it gets stronger as the water slowly evaporates from the hotplate. The actual coffee molecules suspended in the water scald from the heat.

i heard the same thing

make sure you mix it a little after you brew. the coffee will brew progressively stronger.

rule of thumb, under one hour will not kill you. unless you are a coffee nut and can taste every difference.

The moment it comes out of the coffee maker and hits the
pot and the warmer, it starts to get bitter and get suckier..

Turn the warmer off and then micro the coffee if you are gonna let it sit..

I've seen people do that here do, the re-heat thing hours later.
