How long can I go before a meal?

Ya i know.. if you've seen my pic already it you would guess not too long! LMAO

BUT, I'm taking some sideways advice from a friend about mind over body control.. think I'll try a good ol fast for a day or so to see if I can do it...

In theory you body can go 24 days with only water. WHy are you fasting? if its for the so-called heath benefits, can you explain what they are?
 
it's proving that you do indeed have control over what and when you eat..that is all.
 
Just to see if I can. Thats all.. Mind over Body control.


I've been a slave to my passions (read hunger) all my life.. I allowed my depression to create a reason to eat alot and loaf around and become a fatty.. Now that I've turned that around with discipline of healty eating and exercise I want to try one more level of mind/body control.

I certainly still have the excess 'fuel in reserve' to make it as long as I can control my cravings / passons.
 
It's not going to hurt you in the long run to fast for a day. People do it all the time. Your metabolism will slow down some to conserve energy, and you'll feel really hungry, but other than that it's not a big deal. Any kind of exercise would be wasted though, so I wouldn't plan on training until you go back on a meal schedule.
 
I am constantly forgetting to eat. it makes trying to keep any size a bit of a hassle.
It will be 11 at night and I will think, hmm, I'm a bit hungry, then I look at the time and think... hmmm, did I eat today? usually not.

that is on weekends though when I spend most of my time sleeping.
 
A real challenge would be to eat as often as you want (but clean) ... however, only eat until you are no longer hungry ( I didn't say until you were FULL).... then eat again when you feel hungry again.

It takes self control to recognize when you are no longer hungry and to STOP eating.
 
I could not see putting myself thru such torture....

Focus this energy on eating healthy and training hard instead.
 
After you are done with your basic no food fast. Then do a fruit fast. It'll make your colon happy!
