Not necessarily the next day. Also, cardio doesn't necessarily have to be done 5-6 days a week when cutting. Everyone is different and it IS possible to cut without cardio.
If they have to be in the same session, then you do weights first, then cardio.
If they are done in the same day, just at different times, then there is no real set time. I think, preferably, cardio is done first thing in the morning, then weights done late afternoon/evening. I like doing weights fully hydrated and fueled by food. Allows me to give it my all.
6-10 hours after...I usually do morning cardio and have about 3-4 meals then I train. This helps when I am dieting hard and allows me to have enough energy for my workout.
