How far do you stick it in?

Haha sounded kind of sexual didn't it? I was just curious when injecting into your glute if everyone pretty much goes with the standard 1 1/2 or can you get away with a 1inch? Do you leave a little bit of steel exposed or do you pretty much go until it hits the plastic? I know they say to leave some of it exposed for fear of the needle breaking off but what are the chances of going too far or not far enough? I was just looking to get a nice consensus for the newbie that may be unsure.

Stick it in all the way.. I have never heard of a needle snapping or breaking.. If you can spare one take a pliers to it and see just how hard they are to bend and break..

In glutes I pretty much go all the way in with a 1.5", or just a hair short of all the way. Plenty to go through there so its no problem and good to get deep in the muscle

All the way. My glutes have more fat than my quads or delts so I get it as far as I can.I can't imagine how you could break a needle off doing an IM injection unless you freak the fuck out.

I've had a few tren coughs where I thought I could break a needle but honestly if your needles are so dull or cheap that your afraid of that buy new ones. Btw I'm lean and go in the delts I use either 1" or 3/4" depending on where I get them from.

That is such good advice! I do my husbands HRT shot and was very freaked that the darned thing would break off and I'd have to prod around his butt with a pair of pliers (apparently I have a tendency to raise the syringe). I was actually shocked to discover that a 25g pin will bend to at least 45 degrees before it snaps.

Yes, he injects T with a 25g, give the man credit he went into testosterone therapy with a needle phobia!
