how does one shop around a Movie Script?

1) get a buyer (to option it)
2) get an agent
3) get a lawyer

the last 2 won't even talk to you if you don't. As for buyer, up to you to find rich people with money. Hence the term "networking" :)

btw: u can always throw it up on itsonthegrid.com, pay a monthly fee, and take your shot that somehow someone with money is interested. Or you can get your foot through the door writing spec scripts, of course you're not being paid for your time unless they want it.

thank you brother

I honestly wrote an alternate ending to Star Wars the last of the new ones
And was upset and how unconvincing it was how Darth Turned and also upset at some of the other things like the love between Anakin and his girl, and also some of the lines the Jedi had.

I shared it and it got interest from some who were in, and said it was BETTER then the things we saw.

I have some ideas and the only network I have is that my professors know Ben Afflec personally and I was a research assistant for these professors.
But it been years since I talked to them.

I am nearly through with a script but I went to see "Saw 3D" and one of the trailers was for a movie where 50% of the action was close to mine. The other 50% is nothing close though. When I get this bad boy finished hopefully the movie in the trailer will be long forgotten so mine won't look like it was copied, then again I think the difference is too great for them to be confused. The action sequences are similar but the rest of my script goes in a completely different direction.

I think someone can still break through from the outside if its good enough

I just am unaware of the process

I do think they rape you on the first deal or two if it ever happens ( I heard that sorta wheni saw interviews of some)

I remember Vin Diesel said the most important thing is to have "product" that gets made no matter what

The big studios will buy about 20 scripts for every one that gets made into a movie. From what I hear, a spec script could get you $50K
